Step into the world of Arthur Hardy, a determined and visionary young Englishman who appreciated the finer things in life. Begin your culinary journey at his summer residence built in 1852, where you can relax in the heritage building before indulging in one of the most delicious meals of your life.

We have three unique dining experiences to enjoy:
- Our Signature fine dining experience - savour a delectable degustation experience that changes with the seasons, following the "Valley to Verandah" concept. You will also have the opportunity to choose from a multi-award-winning wine selection and creative cocktail menu. Available for dinner 7 days a week
- High Tea Experience - elegant and unique offering that will undoubtedly tantalise your taste buds. Available Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The High Tea selection includes both sweet and savoury treats, as well as unlimited tea and coffee. To ensure your dietary requirements (such as GF, Vegan, Vegetarian, Dairy free, and so on) are met, kindly inform our reservation team at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in being unable to accommodate your needs. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

                              Took 50 minutes before we received any food. Sandwiches were not fresh. Not enough cream for the scones and seriously, $12 for a glass of cold water? Apparently because their filtered water was warm and if you want it cold you have to pay for bottled water. Maybe they could invest in an ice machine? We were offered tea and coffee only at the very start. We had a glass of bubbles, $24 per glass! I then had to eventually call someone over to order a cup of tea, which took another 20 minutes to arrive. The view was amazing, and the young female who served us was lovely, but this was most definitely not the high class high tea that was promoted.

We sincerely apologize for the delay in receiving your food, as well as the concerns you raised regarding the freshness of the sandwiches, the cream for the scones, and the water service. These are certainly not the standards we strive for, and we deeply regret that your experience was affected by these issues. While we’re happy that you enjoyed the view and appreciated the service from our staff, we understand that this did not compensate for the issues you faced. As mentioned in our recent email and phone conversation, we would love the opportunity to make it right .                               Hardy’s Verandah at Mount Lofty House delivered an unforgettable high tea experience. With breathtaking views of the Adelaide Hills, the elegant setting was matched by beautifully presented tiers of sweet and savory delights. The scones, pastries, and sandwiches were perfection, and the tea selection offered something for every palate. The warm, attentive service made the afternoon even more special.                               Wonderful place to visit - attentive and friendly staff. A very minor criticism was that there could have been a larger serve of jam and cream. There was really only enough for one person, and not two people. All the food flavours were outstanding.

                              We recently had a high tea at the venue, the food was well presented, and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. The view from the restaurant was pleasant and of course, the teas were too.

                              Staff were welcoming and courteous, venue was of a high standard with perfect table presentation.                               Staff need to be trained better but that is on management. Very average food. No seasoning and overall very boring. We dined at Magill Estate the day before and it was by far superior by some margins. We won’t be back. Much better options in Adelaide.

                              Fantastic service by all. A gentleman by the name of Sid provided fantastic service and knowledge of the surrounding area and the history of the mount lofty house. A complete asset the business. Will certainly return to this outstanding establishment.

                              A very lovely high tea experience, beautiful venue, friendly, helpful staff. As it was a special occasion and the food was beautifully presented, we didn’t mind spending so much on ‘finger food’ at an incredibly high quality venue 😊
