Harold & Belle"s is Los Angeles's premiere Creole dining experience. Family owned and operated for over 45 years, the restaurant has received numerous awards for its southern style cooking. Specialties include File Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, Jambalaya, and Fried Seafood. Come hungry because Harold & Belle's is known for serving up generous portions. A full bar is also available as well as mouthwatering desserts such as Louisiana Bread Pudding and Peach Cobbler. We also have Happy Hour daily from 4-7pm.

                        The service good be better. We waited awhile for our drinks to arrive. Disappointed that many of the traditional recipes have changed from years ago.

                        Friday 11/15/19 was my 1st time at Harold and Belle's & after reading a little about the history of the restaurant it seemed like a nice little hidden gem in South Los Angeles. I made a reservation in the hopes there wouldn't be a long wait on a Friday night & my friend an I were seated promptly. The server was named Maya and upon mentioning it was my 1st time there wasn't much of a welcome as a new customer. Nonetheless after reviewing the menu we made out order. The inside of the restaurant was pretty nice and although there wasn't a very large dining area it SEEMED like more of a nice sit down type restaurant. A few minutes after placing our order there was a group of about 8 people that was inconsiderately loud in the dining area. I have been to places where there are groups that are having a good time and can tend to get a bit noisy, however when Maya came to our table and we asked if she minded asking them to lower the noise level we were quite taken aback when the response was a swift and outright "NO". Absolutely zero interest in helping to create an enjoyable and peaceful dining experience for the rest of the customers some around us clearly agitated. With our shocked looks she then said i'll let the manager know and returned to inform us that the managers response was that they are paying customers as well so there was nothing that could be done. It was very difficult to even talk with my friend across the table and although I was tempted to just cancel our order and leave, I wanted to see if the food was any good. When the food came it was a decent meal and I just got to it since I couldn't really talk over the loud group. Because I want to support businesses that support and employ the south l.a. area I paid my bill and tipped the server (even though I really didn't want to) But I doubt I will be returning to Harold and Belle's as my experience didn't show much in terms of decent customer service from the management down to the staff I encountered.

                        I love Harold and Belle’s! Been coming for years. Great cuisine, service and strong cocktails!! Only complaint is the noise level, I went on a Friday night and there was a large group in the dining area so I feel like the noise was high! It was hard to hear my group and they struggled to hear me. But overall a great restaurant I will continue to eat at!!

                        Great food. We ordered the pot of Seafood Gumbo. Very delicious and Louisiana style. Every entrée we ordered was flavorful and delicious. A little pricey, but we did not let that stop us!

                        We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation. The Host advised us that he would be back after checking us in. Ten minutes passed. After seeing us loitering at the front desk, a Wonderful Waitress took the time to seat us. Our waiter was great and the food was excellent.

                        My husband and I came here on a date night. We love this place but haven’t been in years (pre-renovation) since we don’t live in the area. I miss the dimmer lighting of days past. To start my husband got the Bon Temps tea and it is now our favorite drink! For dinner my husband got the seafood platter (fried). It was his first time trying red snapper. He wasn’t a fan of it but that’s just his preference nothing wrong with they way it was cooked. I ordered the catfish and it was... amazing. The clam chowder side surprised me in the best way possible. I don’t think I’ve had better. The Mac and cheese and red beans and rice were also quite tasty. Now as good as our food was our dessert was as good if not better. The sweet potato pie was perfect but the peach cobbler was out of this world!!! Harold & Belle’s lived up to and exceeded our expectations!
