Henri Brasserie Française is a grand restaurant, the likes of which only appear once in a decade. Set in the landmark Birks Building located in the heart of downtown Montreal and connected to the new Hotel Birks Montreal 5-star Hotel, Henri presents a cuisine of today, inspired by the timeless traditions of the grand French brasseries. Our gourmet and comforting dishes created by our chef showcase the finest Canadian and Quebec seasonal products from coast to coast. It was my birthday but the servers did not add any candles to the dessert. I find it a bit odd to ask the occasion if it will not be taken care of. Also the woman at the coat check who was checking reservations was a bit mean. Considering that the restaurant is located in the heart of the Birks hotel, the management should hire people who can work under pressure, not hiss at customers. The waiter was convincing me to order a medium well steak like twice. I do not understand why it was necessary. Also we got handed dirty plates before receiving our appetizers.

Flavorful and truly delicious. Waitress was excellent but kitchen was overwhelmed and we had to wait a really long time for main course. That was the only blemish on an otherwise amazing experience

Even though it was valentines day the service was really fast the ambiance was amazing the food was good the place was not noisy which is rare considering valentines day. We loved it so much. Definitely will go again!

La musique était peu adaptée à l’ambiance d’un tel souper, le vol au vent de riz de veau était décevant.

The service and ambiance were impeccable and thoroughly enjoyable, but unfortunately the food was not up to par. Two of us ordered the waffle and chicken, but had to return our dishes as the chicken was burnt to a crisp. The waiter was kind and offered us a replacement free of charge. My husband was also disappointed with his hamburger as he expected a little more for his money. Although you may not get the value for your buck, the restaurant is beautiful and worth trying.
