Though our meal was very good, we had a disdainful experience ordering. I had received an email for a special St. Patrick’s Day corned beef & cabbage meal ($26.99 which is about $10 less expensive than most other menu items). Every year on St. Patrick’s Day we always dine somewhere that serves it. Upon being seated, we were given the regular menu with no mention of this dinner. There was no other “specials” menu provided nor anything on the table or in restaurant about it. We asked our server & her reply was, “I think we’re out of that (it was only 6:30pm), but I’ll check in the kitchen.” We had come specifically for that meal & were actually going to leave if it wasn’t available. The waitress returned telling us that she was able to reserve the last 2 meals for us. Of course we were somewhat glad because it was the reason we had come, but a bit uneasy because we felt they were scrambling to give us what was left. Our meal arrived quickly & was good. HOWEVER, another couple arrived at a table near us & asked for the corned beef & cabbage. Of course we thought there wasn’t any left now since we were told we had gotten the last ones. Well…they were surprisingly served 2 dinners of corned beef & cabbage. This left us feeling that our server was not honest with us & was trying to make us order from the regular menu (more pricey). To top it off, a table of 8 was leaving & when they saw our 2 tables with the corned beef meals (as they walked by), they stopped & commented, “we didn’t know that was available. No one told us about it. We would’ve all ordered that.”
I felt that this was almost a “bait and switch” by the restaurant…advertise a special, get people in the door, & then only provide a pricier menu (unless asked). We have been coming to Henry’s for many years & despite our tasty meal, this experience left us with a really bad feeling about the new owners, management, & staff.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. At 6:30 PM, we had unfortunately run out of corned beef and cabbage. During our busy service, we had to prepare a fresh batch, which caused a slight delay. Our servers were instructed to inform guests about the wait time for the evening's special, but we understand this may not have reached you as intended.
We truly appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon with a more seamless experience.
