Higher Ground is a British bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday at dinner and at lunchtime on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At lunch a £40pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine!

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted via the OpenTable online reservation platform. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

    Had the seasonal tasting menu which was quite lovely. No menu, just what was fresh on the day. The kitchen counter is great for watching chefs at work. Will happily return.

    We had a fantastic time at Higher Ground and we were particularly impressed with the special non-alcoholic wine option (albeit it was as pricey as a decent bottle of alcoholic wine). The tasting menu was an unravelling of delicious courses, finished by the special dessert that we’ll be attempting to replicate at home! One of the best tasting menus we’ve ever had! A cup of tea at the end would have ended the meal nicely but I can understand that this is perhaps not in keeping with the modern vibe and my husband was pleased with his speciality filter coffee (decaf option would be great to consider too!) We’ll be back

    Amazing meal, wonderful service, 10/10. Definitely have the potato filled ravioli and the trifle!

    Great service from the moment you arrive, knowledgable staff, genuinely friendly, closely knit team, food was amazing, all done with a smile on their faces. Better than some with Michelin stars!! Hope to return soon!

    Amazing experience as always from the minute we walked in until the minute we left. Fantastic and attentive service and the food was outstanding as always. Highly recommend.

    Great ambience, fabulous food and although it was a really busy service, we didn't feel rushed or neglected at any stage. Catered for the wide range of needs in our group with food that, while beautifully presented, was very much focussed on great taste. We all left feeling well fed and enjoyed the drinks menu too. Will definitely be going back.
