   The food was amazing and delicious and the atmosphere was extremely chilled and relaxed we didn't feel pressured in any way. The staff were amazing and friendly a lovely way to spend a lunch time. Will definitely go back.

   Another excellent dining experience from the wonderful team at Hispi. We opted for the Lunch (rather than the Bistro) menu which offers a good range of dishes (including vegetarian). My curd crowdie on charred focaccia was a light and delicious starter, followed by braised featherblade of beef which melted in the mouth. Hispi servings are just the right amount for us; two courses are sufficient but we can never resist a Hispi dessert and opted for the parkin. This was a good choice (less heavy than the parkin I remember from childhood), and the subtle ginger flavour was enhanced by exceptional vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. We opted for the recommended wine pairing for our mains (Chardonnay for my partner and Malbec for me) and tawny port to accompany dessert, all of which complemented the food perfectly. We were served by Jasmine, who could not have been more helpful or attentive and did the best possible job (thank you!).

   Never fails to disappoint. The roasts here are top. The matching wine suggestions with each item on each course were very good. The childrens meals were also excellent.

   Hispi continues to be one of the best restaurants in the South Manchester area, its menu prices will never be cheap here but you pay for you get and you certainly get that! Super personalised service (Matilda par excellence) A total pleasure to eat here, long may it continue!

   Lovely restaurant but wow so very expensive for a nice dinner on a sat night. We were blown away by the set menu price for what was essentially a good dinner. Should’ve been £12 starter and a £18 main MAXIMUM but we paid over £80 a head including wine and dessert! Sadly people don’t want to spend this, especially as I had all vegetarian! Great food and service but really overpriced.

   Shout to the crew. Great service! However, the room was stifling. The food looked more interesting on paper. The cabbage and confit duck were OK. I can't see what the egg added to the crab dish. The schnitzel meat was nice but the sauce far too hot. The desserts and wine were adequate. Rather expensive for the quality.

   First time at Hispi and myself and my partner overall had a lovely time. The staff, atmosphere, and general setting of the restaurant I thought were superb. It felt quite romantic and cosy. Bacon belly rib was tasty although the veg ribbons (I think they were courgette) needed a stronger pickle. They were very mild and got lost in the fattiness of the bacon. Cod main was again tasty but the only wet thing on the plate was a small blob of yellow raisin purée. For me it needed another sauce to loosen it up a little. I also felt the serving bowl was a little small and overloaded. It wasn't the prettiest plate I've ever seen with the large broccoli sprigs dominating everything. In short, nice food that I enjoyed eating but lacked a bit of polish around the edges.

    This was our first experience of a Wine Night, and it won't be the last! Hispi exceeded our expectations yet again. The menu was so imaginative, and as always everything was freshly and expertly cooked. My partner particularly enjoyed the melt-in-the-mouth roasted corn-fed chicken breast, while my stand-out was the Jerusalem artichoke and Madeira soup which had the most incredible flavour and velvety texture. It was great to have the paired wines - there were four of these, and they all complemented the food perfectly. We were given just enough information about each one, explaining the choice and emphasising specific features. I'd single out the amazing Domaine J. Laurens, Limoux Methode Ancestrale, Languedoc that accompanied dessert - it was the most delicious sparkling wine I've ever tasted. There was a lovely, cosy atmosphere; we were served by three members of staff, all of whom were welcoming and friendly while being also entirely professional. There was never any sense of being rushed, and we were given opportunities to 'rest' before the next course. All in all a fabulous and memorable night out, and excellent value for the outstanding quality of the experience.
