   Fabulous food and very friendly, attentive staff. We were worried we wouldn't manage a 7 course tasting menu, but the amount of food was perfect. The thing that let it down was that it was quite cold in the restaurant and the wooden chairs weren't comfortable at all. The padded bench was comfortable but I couldn't have sat on the chair for the whole meal. My husband was on the chair and I was on the padded bench, I swapped with him for 1 course to give him a break but then sat next to him on the bench because my back was seizing up from the chair. New chairs and a warmer temperature would have made the experience perfect.

   The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. Delicious food - our family was so impressed. The quality of food and the service highly appreciated Thank you for a superb lunch and we are returning in a few weeks so really look forward to that.

   Superb lunch with perfectly judged service. Matchless in all respects. Food best described by someone with a good deal more adjectives than I know. Save to say that one will remember starter, mains, and pud as gold standard dishes by which to measure other Somerset establishments - and gawd help them. Ambience one star short, simply because there were few of us in for lunch and the buzz lesser for that. Though that too, a little harsh methinks, so up that to five please. (It might be a good idea to be able to see my star rating whilst writing this, as I cannot get back to it and the more one thinks about the experience the more one is inclinded to revise, in this case ever upwards.) Will visit again whenever I need to flatter someone important. All the best, Rod

    Lovely experience and enjoyed the great British menu, hope it wasn’t as stressful for the chef as he prepared it for people out of the judges chamber for the first time. Will definitely return to enjoy more meals here.
