Hook & Ladder is the unexpected steakhouse you’d never thought you’d find in the historic, original firehouse of the Washington Fire Company. This is a one-of-a-kind Skybar experience allowing guests a close view of our 149 year old firehouse, bell tower and original stained glass windows. A unique cross between a chop house and Crudo bar, Hook & Ladder features Certified A5 Japanese wagyu beef that will melt in your month. Dry aged Steak offerings including 32 days dry aged Porterhouse (28oz), 32 days aged Tomahawk Ribeye (40oz) that will taste decidedly beefy, much like a rare roast beef, while also taking on subtler hints of other delicious flavors. Crudo uses the Japanese technique of curing the fish making it more tender and flavorful. Finishing it with lime, lemon, and soy; featuring Wild King Salmon, Japanese Madai, Hamachi and more. Enjoy the purest and fresh take on some classic cocktails.

Entertainment was great. There was a wonderful gentleman playing guitar and really brought culture to the bar area. Drinks were horrific, bar tender could not make a dirty martini to save her life. I ordered a kettle one dirty martini and got nothing but olive juice I requested a remake and the second was just as bad. The service was ok waiter was nice but none of our drink were cleared. At one point I got up and placed them on the bar myself. 😳. Food was subpar. Over experience was not good. I really wanted to love it there as hotel is stunning.

Pricey but excellent food. Waiter was very good but not overly friendly—took away bread and apps very fast but the main meal took a long time. Asked the restaurant for a birthday dessert and they did not do that for me.

I thought the service was very underwhelming. It was a pretty quiet Saturday night. The service seemed to be different at other tables. For being a steakhouse that did not have real steak knives. They could benefit adding more simple dishes in their menu. They offered a $99 burger but couldn’t make a more simple burger.

Staying at West and Main.. so thought we would check out this place within the hotel. The environment is very soothing and relaxing. We were seated by a window which was even better. Our cocktails were amazing. I had the braised beef ribs which was probably the best meal I’ve ever had in the past 10 years! The meat fell apart in my mouth. The taste was amazing. My husband had grilled oysters and the mushroom soup which was also one of the best I’ve had in a long time! Our waitress was sweet and kind and I would definitely recommend having this experience. Yes it’s a high-end restaurant and the prices are a little higher than normal but for the experience and the quality of food, it’s totally worth it.

Everything about Hook and Ladder Sky Bar was just right. The rooms were well laid out so that it felt nicely filled out with people but still very intimate at the table. There was live music in the bar which filtered at a very nice volume level to the dining rooms. We lingered at our table for a while with drinks and didn't feel at all rushed to put in our food order. The cuisine was extravagant and well done. The Tuna Bites were interesting and tasty and my steak was perfect. Overall, it felt comfortable, a little swanky and fun. I don't think a lot of people in my area know about it so I'll be spreading the word.

Nice place. Great food. Did take a little while for our server to initially get to us, but after that he was very good. Girl next to us seemed to be feeling that alcohol pretty good and was inadvertently and audibly letting us know. Granted it is NYE. Other than that is was a very good experience. Will go again.
