   I was told that the sticky toffee pudding was the best in Scotland. It was not. To be fair, I haven't had all the STP in Scotland. It would have been much better if it had been hot. It was not. I was expecting live musicians playing Highland tunes to have a good Ole Highland Hootananny. It was not. There were 2 musicians. They did not start on time. They played 2 songs and took a short break, played another tune, another break. There was a pub down the street a bit that had the music and Highland Hootananny we were expecting. We ordered ice water. We were brought a £7.50 glass bottle of water. Was it any better than the tap water? It was not. The food was average. The menu about the same as every restaurant from Edinburgh to Inverness. Is the Hootananny Inverness worth trying... You guessed it IT WAS NOT!

   What a great evening at Hootenanny! When we first arrived we noticed, they required a reservation until after 8:30. Thankfully I scanned the code at the door and realized we could get a table in 30 minutes. We were warmly greeted and sat quickly. The live music was wonderful as was the food. We highly recommend the Chicken Balmoral. Make a reservation when in Inverness

   Music was nice. Server was sweet but had a number of tables. We didn’t get everything we had ordered.

   Awesome place. Great music. Great service. Definitely recommend. In the heart of city centre. Lots to do around it as well.

   Was expecting a little more, more of what? I’m not sure. Felt like a college bar but staff worked hard and the music was wonderful.
