We are big fans of Hudson House and have been to various locations but this was our first time at the Las Colinas location. Upon arrival at 4:30 we realized it was happy hour and asked if we could move our reservation to a table on the patio that was open. We were also with an infant and thought outside might be more conducive. We were told a four-top table was reserved for a party of eight in a half hour. I asked how the bar / patio had been reserved when it’s not typically reserved as well as how eight people could possibly sit at that table. They said an exception was made. I asked if they could honor happy hour pricing at a table inside, knowing there was an open happy hour table we were prohibited from using. They refused. It wasn’t about the pricing, but about the service. We were hesitant with the curt tone of the hostess, but decided to proceed. We were then led to a table at the back of the restaurant, away from everyone, not offered a high chair for our daughter and then realized the booth was covered in melted ice cubes. At that point we decided to dine elsewhere. We had dinner in the same shopping center and were able to see the outdoor table that we had not been allowed to sit at was left vacant. It is very unfortunate, because we have had positive experiences at Hudson House, however this experience left a sour taste in my mouth with how rude the team was. To add insult to injury Hudson House then reported to Open Table that we missed our reservation.
