Service was great-prompt, friendly. Food was excellent. 4 of us and everyone raved. Ambience is warm. Sound level in the main dining room is low, especially in a booth (we had requested). Prices are moderate by today’s standards. A great dining experience. Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant. Restaurant was very busy for a Monday night. John our server was efficient without being intrusive. Risotto Lobster appetizer was delicious. Wife said it the best SeaBass she has ever had. Tiramisu was delicious as well. Can’t wait to go back.

The service upon being seated with very good. In fact, a little too good. We ordered glasses of wine, and they immediately came. Within 3 minutes of placing our order, our appetizers/salad were delivered. This may sound like great service but to us we felt like the plates were sitting back there ready to be delivered to someone's table at a minute's notice. As soon as we were done with our appetizer, the entrees were delivered. I was very happy with my entree, cannelloni but not impressed at all with the appetizer of the eggplant "short stack". The eggplant was hard and the tomatoes had no taste. The big downside to the evening was feeling like we were being rushed to eat and get out to turn over the table. If you looking to relax and enjoy your meal and take your time, this is definitely not the place.

Once again, Carmelo and Maria made our night special. John was our server and was engaging, informative and pleasant. The food is always fabulous. What an experience!

This was the first time going and I absolutely loved it! I got the veal tortellini and it was amazing!! The bread was also 100000/10!

We really liked this restaurant, the inside is nicely decorated, tables aren't too close and sound level is not bad - I could actually hear my dinner partners. The food was excellent - we started with the Lobster Bisque - creamy but not heavy and nicely seasoned. I had the Ronald Reagan pasta - excellent. My other diners had the Tortellini, Chicken and Strip steak. All enjoyed their meal as much as I did. We'll be back.

In my opinion one of the most romantic restaurants in the greater St.Louis area. The atmosphere, service and the carefully prepared items on the menu are in a word, outstanding! One of the few restaurants in the area where you feel like a member of the family as soon as you walk through the door. For special occasions or just need a respite from the crazy world, you just can’t miss with a visit to Il Bel Lago

Overall, our experience was enjoyable, and the restaurant is in a great location—perfect for a date night. However, there were a couple of disappointments. Given that it was Valentine’s Day, my wife and I were surprised that they ran out of scallops so early in the evening. Our reservation was at 5 PM, which seems too early for a popular dish to be unavailable. My wife ordered the stuffed lobster and found it to be quite small compared to a similar dish she had at a restaurant on The Hill, where the lobster was generously stuffed with pasta. Naturally, she made the comparison and felt underwhelmed. Since my goal was to ensure she had a fantastic dining experience, this was a bit of a letdown. I had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and tasted great, but unfortunately, it wasn’t served hot. While it didn’t take away from the flavor, I would have enjoyed it more if it had been properly heated. Overall, the ambiance and setting were nice, but a few missteps kept it from being a truly exceptional experience.

My wife an I had a day early Valentine's dinner which was excellent. The restaurant's atmosphere was the best and the service by "Layla" was over the top! It couldn't have been a better! I scored some big points with my wife (which are always helpful) for sure and will certainly be making another visit to El Belago in the very near future once again!
