Il Brutto is a neighborhood Italian restaurant located in East Austin with an emphasis on classic, multi-regional Italian dishes. The menu features fresh antipasti, daily home-made pastas, and pizzas baked in the restaurant’s Neapolitan wood-burning oven, in addition to house-made gelati, sorbets & desserts. The beverage program highlights an extensive selection of Italian wines from an on-site cellar, as well as local beers and handcrafted cocktails.

If pizza is your thing the margherita pizza with fior di latte mozzarella takes you back to the wonderful pizzas in Northern Italy. The swordfish was outstanding. The service superior. What else could you want.

We sat down and were looked over for at least 15 minutes until we stopped a waiter and asked for service. Beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, portion size and pricing is a bit off in our opinion. The heirloom burrata was fantastic. Just not an optimal dining experience, won’t go back.

The patio at I’ll Brito is magical-;a twinkle light wrapped tree shaded the whole Area and the tables and chairs are sturdy and comfortable. Our ever was knowledgeable about the wines and brought a Taster to our dinner partners so they could confirm her opinion I’ve had the mussels before And they are very good- a large portion., well pared with the off-the menu bread.
