I recently dined at Il Carciofo during its first week of opening, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in.
We had our sights set on a $140 bottle of wine, only to be informed that it was sold out. Instead, our server suggested a $275 bottle, which felt more like an upsell than a genuine recommendation. This kind of approach is simply not acceptable, especially for a restaurant that should be focused on providing a welcoming experience to its guests.
As for the food, it was average at best. I expected more given the hype surrounding the opening, but the dishes lacked the creativity and flavor I had hoped for.
To top it all off, the service was horrendous. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, which added to the overall underwhelming atmosphere of the place. The decor and space itself left much to be desired, feeling neither inviting nor unique.
Overall, Il Carciofo fell short of expectations. I left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return anytime soon. I hope they can address these issues as they find their footing in the competitive dining scene.**Review of Il Carciofo**
