Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.

First time at this restaurant--had a very nice Christmas Eve dinner, sat outside. The Carpaccio was outstanding--best we've ever had. They also have a very tasty dip for the bread. Service was very quick, perhaps because we were a party of two at a four-top. Our meals came out well before those of others who were there before us and had many more people. We liked that! Anytime you can dine at a nice restaurant in less than an hour is ideal.

We will never return to a restaurant that will not accommodate a 90 year old man. He ordered the clams and linguini, but he has problems with the shells. So I asked the waiter if the chef could shell them for him, which would take maybe 10 seconds. The waiter came back and said the chef was too busy and couldn't do it!! Jonny Costsa, SammyGs, they had no problem doing it!!! We will continue to support all other restaurants in this valley except this one. We are locals and will try to keep all our friends out of this awful restaurant. Stay away !!!!

Although the food was very good, the service was very uneven and we waited a very long time for our food, water refills and the check. The server also referred to me as 'honey' and even though I asked for the check, he brought it to the only man at the table.

Not just an ordinary restaurant. Sophisticated design and atmosphere and add excellent food makes our celebrations that much more special. Always a winner.
