Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.

    Appetizers were good, but some of the entrees were overcooked. Our server was very pushy and tried to rush us during every interaction. It seemed like he was annoyed the whole time. Not a fine dining experience at all.

    This was the second time my husband and I have dined at this restaurant. We made reservations and were sat at our table fairly quickly and on time with our reservation. Waiter was nice throughout the evening but did spill water on my husband later in the evening. He asked “did I get you” and my husband responded “it’s fine” and the waiter then walked away without apologizing. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, which was really good. We both ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese, which I was I had previously had. The pasta was over-cooked and wasn’t in whole pieces. It was ok, but not good by any means. I just figured out that they changed the pasta, but not the physical menu. The menu in the restaurant said tagliatelle but the menu online says Fettuccine alla Bolognese. I told my husband during our dinner that the pasta was definitely not tagliatelle and looked more like fettuccine (I was right). They need to update their physical menu in the restaurant. Overall, we spent around $170 with a bottle of wine. Not sure if I would go back. Food was better the last time.

    Good Italian. We tend to go in the bar area and the staff are very attentive. Is our first choice when we visit Palm Springs

    We love dining at Il Corso That said, our table service was far less than experienced during past visits, based on our waiter who had the personality of a thumbtack throughout the evening Seated outside, had to get up and come inside to ask our waiter for a second glass of wine Food and ambiance was great as always

    Food and service were great. We got seated quickly since we had a reservation, very nice ambiance. All food were tasty. Will go back again.

    Seating was bad, completely out of the way as an afterthought. Could hardly hear the waiter food came out cold, both the appetizer and then all all two entrées expensive
