Il Gabbiano is an Italian Steakhouse brought to the historical waterfront district and neighborhood of the city of New Haven, Connecticut by Chef Valentino Stakaj owner of the city's iconic Adriana's on Grand Avenue and La Lupa in North Haven, Valentino has rebuilt the famous restaurant location at 501 Long Wharf Drive which overlooks the Long Island Sound. Monday to Sunday happy hour from 12:00-6:00pm drink and appetizer specials every day.

Had the shrimp fradiavlo mild. Was excellent ! Plenty left for next day. Expresso martini was one of the best I’ve ever had.🍸

We waited at least 20 minutes before a server approached our table. That was after I alerted the hostess .

The waiter was amazing he took care of all our needs. He explained the specials the letter. The apps and diners came out quickly and were amazing We will definitely go there again

Mirel was our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and food preparation. He was very friendly and attentive. The appetizers were Delicious. We shared stuffed squash blossoms and fresh melon with prosciutto and burrito. The entrees were served at a perfect temperature. The home made pasta is fabulous. And the home made Tiramisu was great. The view is very nice overlooking the harbor. The bar area is very active. Drinks( Manhattan) and wine were very good.

We went for dinner for my husband‘s birthday and it was outstanding. The food was delicious. The waiter Alden was excellent. It was really nice looking out the windows and seeing the beautiful ocean with all the lights glimmering I would recommend it highly.

The food was amazing and the portions were HUGE!! It was valentines so the service was a little slower than we’d like, but it was a packed house so it’s understandable. They also had live music which was lovely, everything was just great. Can’t wait to go back

Gabbiano is always amazing food and service, Carlos was running around like a crazy person but took his time to speak with us, it's always great to talk to him. The food was delicious as usual, the drinks were fantastic Looking forward to the next time we go!

I was a little disappointed that there was a prefix menu, and I had bought my friends that had never had the food and the items that they wanted was not available on Friday.

We had an issue with seating (I requested no high top chairs and our table had them). They took care of this right away. Service and food awesome, though we weren’t expecting a limited and price increased selection menu (it was Valetines Day but I saw no mention of this on their website or FB). Noise level was pretty high due to a musician that was singing this evening. Overall was still a great experience. I’ve been here many times and will definitely return.
