Awarded two hats at the 2025 Good Food Guide Awards, Ishizuka is renowned for its contemporary interpretation of Kaiseki—an elevated and intricate culinary art form, practiced exclusively by Japan’s most expert culinary master Katsuji Yoshino. Each Kaiseki meal is a multi-course journey that celebrates the integrity of seasonal ingredients, with a balance of flavours and textures that are as artistically presented as they are meticulously crafted.

Designed by esteemed architecture and design practice Russell & George, Ishizuka was awarded Restaurant of the Year at the 2019 Frame Awards in Amsterdam, International Winner in the Australia & Pacific Restaurant category at the prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London, and Restaurant Design of the Year at the 2018 Eat Drink Design Awards in Melbourne.

    Dining with Ishizuka Welcoming the season change is our artisanal ritual. At Ishizuka, we delicately design a Kaiseki course to incorporate the freshest ingredients of that day. We offer our unrivalled Kaiseki menu for $315pp. Our Autumn Menu has been crafted a menu that pushes culinary boundaries while staying true to the core Japanese philosophy of harmony and seasonality. All reservations require a $100pp deposit. Please email reservation@ishizuka.com.au for Kaiseki menu inquiry. --- We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice for any cancellation, reduction of diners, or date changes. Failure to do so, we reserve the right to charge 100% of the menu price ($315) as cancellation fees. --- Groups For bookings of 6 or more, please call us on +61 3 8594 0895 Wednesday-Monday between 3:00pm to 10:00pm or e-mail us at reservation@ishizuka.com.au. A 10% service fee will be charged for groups larger than six guests. --- Please note that Ishizuka closes at 11pm.

From Wednesday through Monday we offer our unrivalled Kaiseki menu for $315pp. Our Spring menu has been crafted a menu that pushes culinary boundaries while staying true to the core Japanese philosophy of harmony and seasonality.   • Onigiri Chef Taro Kiso at Ishizuka

    Ishizuka is looking to collaborate with Onirigi Chef - Taro Kiso in April 2025. Master Taro Kiso is renowned as the chef who makes the most delicious onigiri in the world - he shapes each rice ball by hand using only his bare fingers, starting with piping hot short-grain rice that he cooks in a specialized pot using traditional techniques. For two nights only from Saturday 26th-Sunday 27th April, Ishizuka shall offer diners the opportunity to savour Chef Taro’s celebrated Onigiri, served alongside an exquisite selection of 8 dishes from Ishizuka’s Autumn Menu by Executive Chef Katsuji Yoshino.

    The bar was pre set very high compared to other established fine dining venues and we were so not disappointed. from the minute we arrived the experience was just inspiring and amazing. can not wait to return. congratulations to the whole team, it was like dining amongst a sympathy orchestra!

    An incredible experience; up there with some of the best Michelin restaurants in the world imho. The quality of the food and drinks pairing was divine, the venue was understatedly elegant and classy, the knowledge of the staff was impeccable, and the transition from each course was seamless. No gimmicks; just a top-quality experience. Congratulations to the chef.

    An exceptional meal from start to finish. For starters, pictures don’t do the beauty of the restaurant’s decor justice. Timing of dishes was executed perfectly and the open kitchen design allowed for a very exciting dining experience. The alcohol matching was consistently excellent, taking diners on a journey around Australia and the world. It’s very rare that I remember something outstanding from every dish after a degustation but this was one of those rare cases. The flavours were harmonious and dishes wereprepared immaculately. While I still consider Minamishima to be the best sushi in Australia, Ishizuka definitely makes a strong argument for the best Japanese dining experiences money can buy in Australia

    Thank you to everyone who assisted in making this night a memorable one. My boyfriend was much surprised and the staff and food was outstanding. I loved the seasonal menu and atmosphere.

    Me and my boyfriend went to Ishizuka on thursdau the 30th of August. The entrence is not too hard to find with a little bit of guiding from the receptionist. She seemed very friendly and helpfull. When we sat at the bar which is the dining area, where the chef's cook everything right in feont of your nose, i had the feeling i needed to be quiet or whispering because everyone around us was so quiet. They presented the menu in a very beautiful way, gave us the options of a wine pairing which we did do with a cocktail to kick of with. The cocktails were good, some tasted very strong in my opinion. The food was absolutely outstanding. Very beautiful presentations, on very beautiful plates and the flavours were amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to people who don't mind spending a bit more money on high quality food and beverages. They absolutely blew my mind and gave me one special evening and dining experience

    Well well well, finally had a chance to try this best Japanese cuisine. It is really really worth the money and can not give a fault of each dish. So fresh, so tasty, well prepared. Will go back to try other menus from other seasons.

    From the moment of entering through the basement intercom entry, we knew this would be a special evening. Seating only 16 diners and with fantastic staff explaining each beautifully crafted course, it is a total experience as if we were in Japan. Ingredients such as snow crab, fresh yuzu are sourced form Japan and the combination of delicate and beautifully presented food match the decor and ambience for a superb night out. Overall excellent value and delicious wines either in a paring or own selection. We will be back

    Amazing experience. Went for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere and the food were outstanding. Would definitely come back the next time we are in Melbourne.
