This was the worst meal we have ever had. It started with a half dozen oysters, which were clearly shucked at some point prior to dinner service. They were bad and we had to send them back. Our server was polite about it and the restaurant took them off of our tab. Next we had the tomato pie, which was a gelatinous mess, and the crab toast, which was really just cream cheese on bread (no crab, no toast). We also had the Yuba and Cream, which we did not care for...that dish wasn't inedible, and the bread it was served with was great...maybe it just wasn't our thing. Our main courses were the pork chop and the snapper, and while I did not care for the sauce on the pork chop, it was at least edible (and the cabbage that accompanied it was outstanding). However, the snapper was not edible. It was extremely fishy. The restaurant offered to make her something else, but at that point, we were just ready to leave.
We also need to mention a cocktail that my wife ordered, the Miracle of the Well Martini. While the presentation was interesting, this was basically an onion bomb. I don't know if the vodka was infused with onion or what, but it was nasty. Just really terrible.
The staff was great all the way around, and I felt like they really cared about our experience, as evidenced by them taking the oysters off our bill and offering to make my wife another entree. Unfortunately, the food (and the Miracle of the Well Martini) was so bad across the board that I feel like I have to say something. While it is possible they just had a bad night, I don't think that is it, because it wasn't just one thing that they got wrong.
