Situated in Lakeview's iconic Southport Corridor, Itoko is a neighborhood Japanese and robata restaurant from Gene Kato, Executive Chef of Momotaro. “Itoko” meaning “cousin” in Japanese, refers to the connection with Momotaro, located in the Fulton Market District. The menu features the high level of ingredients and technique that Chicago has come to expect from Chef Kato, alongside a beautiful interior curated for the Southport neighborhood. The menu itself features uniquely interpreted sushi rolls that allow the high-quality fish to be the star of the sushi experience. In addition, an innovative beverage menu with a focus on cocktails & highballs highlights the relationship between the technique of the food created by the kitchen and how this is complimented by the beverage selection.

Join us for a hoppy and colorful Easter brunch in the Kinjo Room, where you can let your creativity shine with egg decorating while enjoying a delicious meal! We'll have bento boxes for both kids and adults, so everyone can sip, snack, and celebrate while bringing their egg designs to life. Adult tickets are $45, and kids' tickets are $30. Adults will have a choice of Shiitake (savory grilled mushrooms), Negima (juicy grilled chicken and scallion skewers), or Skirt Steak (tender, flavorful cuts grilled to perfection) for their bento. Each bento also comes with a 6-piece Salmon Avocado Roll, crispy pan-fried Gyoza, comforting Miso Soup, and a refreshing Side Salad to round out the meal. For the little ones, we’re serving up kid-approved favorites! They can choose between a Sushi Set (fresh cucumber and tuna rolls), Yakitori (grilled-to-perfection chicken skewers), crispy Chicken Katsu (Japanese-style fried chicken), or golden-fried Shrimp Katsu—all served in a fun and delicious bento box. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Can't wait to go back again! Wife has shellfish allergy, and they did a great job of not endangering her life. Really appreciate their attentiveness to her allergy. Wonderful people!

Food and service were excellent. However, the portion sizes are extremely small for the prices charged. They said that the plates were "meant to be shared", but the price points suggested otherwise.

We were saddened to hear the happy hour special was only honored at the bar, which was the deciding factor in attending. Unfortunately, there were no seats at the bar upon arrival. However, the food and service was absolutely amazing. We shared the Gyoza and each had the Tantan Ramen. Best ramen we’ve had in the city thus far!

Delicious! The faroe salmon nigiri and medium fatty tuna nigiri were incredible. I’d also recommend the gyoza and the A5 maki! And you can drink the lychee martini like a juice box 😂 yummy!

Itoko is a beautiful spot in a gem of a neighborhood. My partner and I wanted to enjoy some sushi before a show but we were blown away with the selection of food! The drinks were really well balanced as well. Personally, I adored the sakura spring, a really smooth and bright mezcal cocktail. We were very happy with the range and variety of the food. Everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, well seasoned, and we enjoyed every single dish. We specifically adored the Branzino with the schichimi crust and the gyoza. The handrolls were incredible too! Our server Min was very gracious and worked hard to have us finished by a certain time since we went to a show at the Wit right after. Overall it’s a bit pricy, but absolutely worth it for a special evening!
