I will start with the positives first. The ambiance is very. Creatively decorated with the smooth jazz playing in the background.
However, it all went downhill when we were seated. It took over 30 minutes to receive our drinks when the table behind us was seated after us. We had to ask our waiter, plus another waiter when the drinks would be ready. It took another 15 minutes for the bartender to bring them to us. The waiter told us, due to the wait, the drinks would be discounted. My husband first ordered the Wyclef and we were told they did not have griot available. He then ordered the Marley and asked Haitian pikliz on the side and was told did they did have any available. 0/2 failed attempts to order what he wanted. I ordered the rasta pasta and when it was delivered the pasta was overcooked and there was barely any of the cream sauce. The cabbage ordered as the side was decent, but the not the flavor I've tasted in the past.
Finally, we were ready to leave. 40 mins had passed before our waiter came back to the table to check on us, so again we had to ask the host (who was acting as a waiter) for the check. Between waiting for the check, the check being corrected TWICE because the drinks were not discounted as previously told and an additional side being added to the bill, it was another 25 mins before leaving the restaurant.
Needless to say, what should have been a relaxed date night with my husband, turned into a chaotic mess. We will not be returning.
