Housed in a glorious Southern mansion in the heart of Music City, Jimmy Kelly’s continues to be the standard by which all American steakhouses are measured. Founded in 1934 while the country was in the throes of the Great Depression and just one year removed from the repeal of prohibition, Jimmy Kelly made a promise to himself and his diners. Simply put, he would serve a great steak, a generous portion of whiskey and insure the service was always attentive. Making good on that promise has been the cornerstone of the restaurant’s success and enabled it to survive and flourish. Now over 80 years later and operated by the third generation of Kellys, it has earned a reputation as one of the grand old restaurants not only in Nashville but the entire southeast. Come anytime and enjoy a great steak and a generous portion of whiskey!

Over the summer of 2024, my wife and I was there, I had the SEAFOOD PASTA. That seafood pasta was great. Looking at your menu on Saturday, your website showed that your restaurant still had it on the menu. Plus, it showed you had calamari as an appetizer. Then when my group got to your restaurant that Saturday night, I looked at your menu, neither one was on it. Really disappointed, that was the main reason I showed up with a party of 5. Most of them wanted to try out the pasta, due to me saying how good it was. The only other options were beef, pork, and fish plates, which I buy half a beef every year, from a famer friend of mine. Therefore, it isn't an option for me, because I can have at home. Then I'm not much of a fish eater, so that has limited me to have a steak or pork chop. With the cost of your food, you should be able to change your website information to something that is up to date. Your server did a fantastic job, helping out and explaining and answering or questions

Gave another table our food by accident. Ours didn’t come out for 40 min. Steak was rushed when cooking.

We waited less than a minute to be seated for our reservation once we arrived. Our server was Jimmy , and he was amazing. He was attentive, and his suggestions were spot on. He made excellent suggestions for wine, and our special request was handled with ease by him. There is significant renovation going on, which is the only reason for less than 5 stars in every category. The menu has changed- no more twice baked potatoes ( sad) and the recipe has changed for the hoe cakes- they are more like pancakes than the old hoe cakes. Our steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pork chops were tender and flavored well. The sea bass was good , not great, and could have used additional seasoning.The Kate's potatoes were a large portion, but the seasoning was non-existent. The collard greens were a hit(spicy hot and sweet) but one diner said they were too sweet for her. A significant change: items are ALL a la carte, which may or may not affect diners' choices and bill. Self-parking continues to be a problem at times, but valet parking is available. It's a great place for special occasions. The menu prices may seem high, but for the quality, portions and service we received last night, we were treated like family, not guests. We will be back.

Took my women on our first date and it was fantastic. The food was on point and it's a really cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back

Hope you will try the “new” Jimmy Kelly’s! They have undergone new ownership,management and staffing. The restaurant is clean. Check out those sparkling crystal chandeliers. The service attentive and caring. Ms.Ray is running the show and she gets it done. She visits the guests and truly wants to make your experience the very best. Very old school! Amber in the bar is great. Good drinks, service and conversation. We enjoyed the Oysters Rockefeller, Bacon appetizer and crème brûlée. All delicious and beautifully presented. Be sure to checkout the revamped patio now dining addition with more bar space. All this and valet parking too. Thank you for a lovely evening!!

Food was the best I’ve experienced in a long time at Jimmy Kelly’s! My family (2 parents, 3 boys) has been visiting Jimmy Kelly’s for special events for almost 10 years. We love their holiday gift card promotion and utilize it annually for a special meal, or 2. Where you are seated makes a huge difference in your experience at the restaurant. We hate the quiet upstairs and the fountain room, but love the main downstairs dining room. If you want an intimate setting, sit upstairs. Like more action? Sit downstairs. The service is always excellent.
