Our first visit to Jimmy’s, my partner and I stopped by for dinner prior to a show downtown, and we were very impressed! We had made a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server, Hayden was great with his recommendations from the menu and answering questions. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms to share and found the five pieces plenty for us. The filling was savory and smooth with a touch of decadence and, paired with the house cocktail, were delicious. I ordered the Korean marinated ribeye with seasonal veggies and my partner the KC strip. Both were seasoned and cooked perfectly to our liking. My only complaint with our experience was the speed of service. We were seated at 5:45 and the appetizer arrived at about 6:20. We apologized at this point to Hayden for not telling him earlier in the service that we’d likely need to be out the door by 7:00 to make our show but he was more than understanding. Our steaks arrived shortly after but seemed as if they’d been sitting in the window for much too long. Again, they were cooked wonderfully, but were a bit cold to the touch. Even the sauce on the vegetable medley had started to congeal a bit from being left unattended for a while and the fries my partner ordered with his had lost their crunch. I feel most of this could be attributed to being a busy Saturday night, and we will certainly be back for another visit to Jimmy’s as the food and ambiance both really are excellent.
