   I love JK and as always, the food was exemplary. My out of town guests thoroughly enjoyed the chef’s favorite dish, Chilean sea bass. This trip was marred by the service. I am gluten free and requested raw veggies with our hummus appetizer. We were brought a plate of extra pita which was a nice touch but not the veggies. When mentioned again about the raw veggies, we were told they would be brought with the meal which I thought was odd but assumed the kitchen was understaffed. When I was brought a bowl of steaming hot veggies, I was thoroughly surprised. When I asked what it was, the server told me they were the wok veggies I requested. Not quite sure how she got wok for raw when requesting for hummus but we opted to keep them and they were delicious! I had to step away to take an urgent phone call once our meal was brought to the table. The lamb I ordered was fabulous but I had to use my hands to eat since I wasn’t brought a knife. Just not the delightful experience I’ve had before. Of course, our dessert was the finale to a wonderful meal. The fruit basket didn’t disappoint. It is one of the most fantastic creations and a perfect ending to a meal. When my friend received the bill, she noticed we were charged for the extra plate of pita (which we did not request) and for the wok veggies. What was to be a fun experience for my friends was marred by our server’s lack of attention to detail and communication skills.

   From the moment we stepped into this enchanting restaurant, we were transported to a magical realm that felt both whimsical and welcoming. The ambiance set the stage for what turned out to be a truly unforgettable dining experience centered around modern Asian cuisine. Our adventure began with the delightful guidance of Chris, our waiter, who expertly navigated us through the menu. He recommended the Chicken & Truffle Dumpling and the Lobster & Shrimp Shumai, both of which exceeded our expectations. Each bite was a revelation, bursting with flavor and creativity. For the main course, my husband opted for the infamous pornstar burger, and he declared it the best burger he has ever had. This extravagant creation featured A5 wagyu beef, adorned with 24k edible gold, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and truffle mayo, served alongside truffle parmesan fries that were equally delectable. I chose the Oxtail & Bonemarrow Fried Rice, a signature classic of the restaurant. Chris's recommendation was spot on; it was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted. The rich flavors and perfect textures made every bite a joy. Our teenagers were equally satisfied with their choices of crispy rice and a fillet, both of which brought smiles to their faces. To cap off our magical evening, we indulged in espresso martinis, complete with a picture of our family artfully printed on top—what a delightful surprise! The kids savored the Guanaja Chocolate Fondant paired with raspberry sorbet, leaving them just as thrilled as the rest of us. This dining experience was not just a meal; it was a journey through flavors and creativity that we will cherish forever. I highly recommend this whimsical restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable culinary adventure.

   Shared small plates for a gluten free birthday dinner for 2: softshell crab tempura, calamari, lamb chops and tuna with crispy rice. Also ordered great bottle of wine. They had a nice selection on the gluten free menu and Ashely, our waitress was helpful and funny. The bartender offered to decant our bottle of cab and Chef King brought out our last course. He and Ashley were both charming and genuinely seemed to care that we had a good experience. Great evening in a lovely setting.

   Disappointing Anniversary Dinner at JK by Chef King We were excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary at JK by Chef King last night, but unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. However, that was where the positives ended. We waited several minutes before a waitress finally approached our table—without greeting us or offering a warm welcome. Instead, she simply said, “Tap or still?” No pleasantries, just a cold and abrupt start to our evening. When we ordered drinks, despite both of us being in our 50s and clearly over 21, the waitress asked for our IDs. I made a lighthearted joke about being flattered and showed her my ID in my wallet. Rather than a simple glance, she insisted I remove it, then proceeded to inspect it thoroughly—front and back—even scratching it as if trying to determine if it was fake. It was an unnecessary and uncomfortable moment that set the tone for the rest of the night. After that, the service only got worse. Our drinks sat finished at the bar for 10-15 minutes before she finally brought them to us. She rarely checked on us, avoided eye contact, and failed to provide basic service. I ordered the lamb, and she mentioned bringing a knife—yet it never arrived. With no other choice, I ate the tiny chops by hand, only to discover they were overcooked, dry, and lacking sauce—a far cry from what you’d expect at a fine dining establishment. My wife barely touched her meal, yet the waitress never once asked how the food was or why it went uneaten. We sat waiting for a long time before she finally asked if we wanted the check. There was zero warmth, zero attentiveness, and absolutely no effort to provide a good dining experience from start to finish. I had originally planned to bring my whole family here for my mother’s birthday in a couple of weeks. However, after this unpleasant and disappointing experience, we won’t be back.

   Atmosphere is great. Service is excellent. Location is great. Food is lack luster and under seasoned. Everything tasted like burnt grease

   Gorgeous restaurant, wonderful staff at hostess stand and serving our meal. Everything we ordered was very tasty, however portions are quite small for the price. We sat in a four top on the velvet chairs by the bar. They were definitely too small if you’re over a 5 foot tall. Would have preferred a larger table with upgraded seating. A cute place to eat every now and again, probably won’t make it a regular restaurant though.

    Our server, Kyndal was awesome. The food was great. We weren’t rushed and the server made my wife feel special with her birthday dinner! The experience was as anticipated. We will come back
