My date and I decided on the "D" for Saturday night. Again, l I misjudged traffic and got there early for my 8:45 table. There was a bustle up front, kind of like people waiting for the boarding call of a Spirit Airlines flight.
Hostess stand does a great job and I got checked in and took a seat on the bench next to a couple who immediately started asking me if I'd eaten here before and what "was good".
I was seated at my favorite end of the room, and immediately smiled a big smile as I ran into Kaitlyn. I found out she would be serving me tonight. I have several favorite servers here, Amancho being one. But she has inserted herself as maybe one of the tops for me. Attentive. Knows the menu. Professional, but incredibly witty and I truly enjoy the banter with her throughout service. She returned with a large pour of wine as the bartender was at the end of a bottle and I benefitted. She said "I didn't think you would mind" to which I replied "I am not the least bit offended".
The food. My date ordered the filet. Well done. Hockey puck done. She got a loaded potato that was as big as a curling stone. Now curling stones weigh 38-44 pounds , but you get the visual. They added some scallions to the toppings which may not be new, but I loved the addition to the flavor profile. Steak was wonderful I'm told as I was not given a bite :)
I got the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. Great execution! I think their pastas are underrated here. The side of spaghetti was ample and not an afterthought which I appreciated. Excellent plate coverage. Caesar salads for both. You know how I feel about the overdressed-heavy-on the grated cheese-Caesar. Yess!
As usual the team under Kaylee are doing a wonderful job. I met one of the management team that I've seen but never met. Pleasant young lady. They are striving for fine dining service and delivering. The kitchen rarely misses. It's never missed for me. I love this place and the people who man it daily.
Well done!
