Johnny's at The Wyndham Newport Hotel offers an eclectic menu featuring fresh seafood and local fare. Very nice waitress who seemed to have tables in another area, maybe they were short staff. We were eating light since it was early so we each had sandwiches which were good, along with cols slaw and fries which were excellent.

We brought a friend who had never eaten at Johnnys. Great meal all around and service. Our plates were scraped clean.

When we arrived, I was a little disappointed to find the restaurant was very casual, more like a cafeteria-style ambiance. And, while it was only 7 pm, a band was already playing, which made it too loud for our party of six to carry on a conversation in the dining room, which is connected to the bar and stage. However, as the night went on, we found the waitress to be very attentive and friendly and the food to be delicious. In the end, we had an enjoyable time, and while I wouldn't book this restaurant again for an upscale dining experience, I wouldn't give it a negative review either.

These scallops were one of the best we have ever enjoyed! They were cooked perfectly and the risotto was delicious, too. We enjoyed the bread pudding dessert and our bottle of wine. The view is lovely and the outdoor seating was perfect. The loyalty program is an added plus!! Our server, Jesse, was patient and very friendly. We will certainly be dining here again!

Service was okay, Swordfish was cooked to Very dry, was not edible, Rueben Sandwich was too much fat and stringy.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Our waitress, however, was not personable at all. Which , since we’ve been dining here, is a first. Otherwise it was a good experience overall.

I have to qualify this review based on the fact that we were seated outside on a stunning summer evening. That being said, the food and service, while not quite as phenomenal as the setting, were still very good. It was obvious that a substantial amount of attention was paid to the quality and appearance of the food. We will happily return if we are ever in Newport again.
