    Despite multiple assurances that the tasting menu was (could be) gluten free, I was served a dish with “red fife grains” aka WHEAT. I asked the server to check with the chef and they said they were sure it was GF but would ask. Lo and behold it was not GF. I’m left wondering what else wasn’t GF. Guess I’ll know in the next few hours. Overall a mushy, forgettable meal. Chef is big on foam.

    Outstanding as always! Joni never fails to impress with its exceptional customer service, exquisite cuisine, and stunning decor. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. While the music performance could be improved to better complement the ambiance, it didn’t detract from the overall enjoyment. Joni remains one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto, offering an absolutely beautiful experience every time. Looking forward to returning soon!

    I loved the live music and ambience of the restaurant, it definitely had a lobby bar feel. The food was well plated and delicious. The staff were friendly and pleasant, but there were not enough of them.

    Great food and great atmosphere. The restaurant has a nice noise level. That’s not too loud and makes it easy to enjoy your meal with your company.

    Some girlfriends and I enjoyed afternoon tea at Joni’s. It was delicious and elegant! Traditional tea with a modern flair and some twists. Really enjoyed the savoury set and were too full to finish all our sweets, which were beautifully crafted. We each had our own Sloane tea selections - all good! Loved the “Cocoa rose” and “Heavenly Cream” with our sweets. Our server was attentive and helpful.

    We made reservations for Afternoon Tea. Savoury bites were nice and sweets were alright. We enjoyed our two tea options, though the selection could’ve been bigger. For a 5-star restaurant, the service left a lot to be desired. The server took away my tea after I said I’m still working on it, took away our butter knives before the scones came out, made comments like “you’re really taking your time working through that,” and had to call another server to explain the food because he forgot. Servers seemed nervous and even setting the table was a struggle—they placed a cup in front of the empty seat full of bags and jackets, and failed to put one in front of my friend who was sitting at the table. It’s really unacceptable that servers aren’t better trained.

    I stayed at the hotel and had brunch at Joni. I've been there multiple times. Joni is a great spot. The only minor issue that I had was that the Park Breakfast is quite underwhelming. I understand it is a standard eggs/bacon etc. breakfast but there was no extra touch or flair that made it distinctive from what you can get at any diner in downtown Toronto. Also, our vey nice waiter at times seemed extremely busy and slightly overwhelmed. But these are minor issues. Joni is a fantastic spot.

    I am back for the incredible blooming onions.Very filling made with my favourite vidalia onion. It had a tasty breading. The oyster Rockefeller were the finest i have ever had. For scotch lovers try the Bowmore flight and you will love the experience . Yes Joni you are the only restaurant that continues to create, explore , innovate and exceed my many visits. The Bothy experience is wonderful and i am treated like a guest equal too if i were to have guests in my own home. If you want to enjoy the highest level of culinary experience the entire team at Joni's will exceed your expectations. DON

    Joni's new bothy menu is outstanding. I had the lobster poutine. WOW. I was served a generous portion of lobster🦞. The fries are chrispy and the entire meal i will repeat very soon. Due to the season things are busy everywhere Jonl's service is always pitch perfect. From front of house to behind the scenes in the kitchen Joni delivers. I am planning to return Saturday for the blooming onion and oysters rockefeller . I am a regular here and I love new features . I will be a lifetime guest because every visit exceeds the previous one. Drop by if you want to experience the highest level of superior dining in Yorkville and Toronto. DON
