Julep Story
On October 14, 1912, after eating a meal at the Hotel Gilpatrick (where Hyatt Regency now stands), President
Teddy Roosevelt was shot point-blank by John Schrank, an insane bartender. Teddy Roosevelt had his own mint julep recipe, and his closest advisors were known as "the Mint Julep Cabinet".
