First time at Kalaveras in Chula Vista & experienced their brunch menu with some micheladas, bottomless mimosas, &shots for dessert. I decided to get the ceviche appetizer w a side of there spice sauce (4/5 stars), my friends ordered adobada steak and eggs 4/5 stars, pasta al Diablo (4/5 stars), and barbacoa omelette (3/4 stars; not because it was bad but it was basic compared to the other dishes- taste was 4/5stars). Server and service was 4/5 stars not because they were lacking but because they didn’t go above and beyond. They did give great service overall, especially refilling our mimosas before they reached the bottom of the glass. They were very aware and very attentive with us and his other tables. Overall experience: Fell in love with the Redando beach location so had to try this one with my San Diego friends.I would give a “10/10 would recommend” and would come back again. Rating scale: My ratings to give a 5/5 would have to be Michelin Star restaurants so this 4/5 is still exceptionally high rating for this establishment in my books. Hope this helps &Enjoy!

Went on a Friday it was super fun & the music was really good. Then we went on a Tuesday and the music was soooo lame. It was extremely boring nothing compared to Friday. We asked them to change the music multiple times & it never happened. Food is really good & happy hour is the best time to go.

I recently ate at this restaurant for Sunday brunch and my experience was underwhelming. The food was average, but the atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy the meal. The music was excessively loud, making it nearly impossible to hold a conversation without shouting. The wait staff was friendly, service was minimal. We were informed about the bar and bottomless mimosas, no one checked in to take our order. It took 20 minutes to track someone down for drinks, and over the course of 90 minutes, we only received two glasses of mimosas, which were primarily orange juice. I’m unsure whether this was due to understaffing or if this is the standard level of service for their Sunday brunch. Either way, it left me disappointed, especially since I was excited to finally try this restaurant.

Food was good many different option at the buffet, only thing the music was very loud, having a conversation was very hard

Because it was a busy day the kitchen was behind it tools is about 45 mins to get our food. Plus the server was super busy also he didn’t pay much attention to our table. Overall the food was good though we need to go back on a day that’s not busy
