The Kawachiya room by Kawabun NYC is a premium dining experience featuring seasonal menus offered in a lunch format and a full tasting menu for dinner at our Chef's counter. We feature techniques and recipes spanning four hundred years with an eye towards innovating for New York. Located near Bryant Park and the Chrysler building in Murray Hill, Kawachiya is a hidden gem conveniently located close to Grand Central Terminal.

Chef Ito Yoshitaka has been practicing his craft at the legendary Kawabun Ryotei in Nagoya, Japan since his youth. Hailing from a family of Washoku chefs, he applies his dedication and skills to bring a highly selective seasonal offering to New York to launch the first expansion of Kawabun since its founding in the early 1600s.

Our Kaiseki Omakase is curated by Chef Ito Yoshitaka, who prepares and serves seasonal courses directly in front of you at our counter. He is steeped in the finest traditions of Japan, with his father and mother both professionally practicing Washoku cooking in Kyoto and Nagoya. Kawachiya, the kaiseki omakase eight seat counter located inside Kawabun NYC is thrilled to announce an incredible one night collaboration with icca. Chef Yoshitaka Ito of Kawachiya and Chef Kazushige Suzuki of icca will take you on a culinary journey that is sure to amaze. They are curating a menu that will combine Chef Ito's masterful kaiseki offerings and Chef Suzuki's skilful edomae sushi preparations. This collaboration is sure to transport you to Japan and take your taste buds on a journey like no other.

In my opinion, it is one of the top tier Japanese resturant in NY and I've already been there twice. The noodles and the beef were my favorite dishes. I'll try dinner next time.

I had a special dinner course collaborated with Chef Atsushi Okawara from Den Miami Beach and enjoyed beautiful Japanese Kaiseki and Sushi with sake pairings. It was great to see chefs diligent works at the counter, and there were great quality ingredients from Japan. I also tasted several unique seasonings which chefs innovated in the U.S., so it must be a new experience for the people who love Japanese food.

The food and overall experience is wonderful. Some music will be better. The welcome process can be improved by giving the guests a welcome drink instead of waiting in the first floor standing.
