Kellari Taverna is located in the heart of New York City, three blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Theater District. The dining room décor evokes a subterranean wine cellar designed with contemporary elegance. Kellari features the traditional Greek taverna specialties, such as our signature grilled whole fish, prime lamb chops and chicken meats, and an eclectic selection of contemporary Hellenic savory appetizers ("mezedes") created by our Executive Chef. The Kellari dessert menu includes innovative specialties such as warm sokolata with goat milk vanilla ice cream as as well as traditional favorites such as Baklava and bougatsa. Kellari Taverna offers an extensive international wine list featuring a large selection of Greek wines.

    I have frequented Kellari several times because the food there is exceptional. I will continue to patronize this restaurant. However the service last night was not optimal. I think we must have gotten there for a shift change, because the wait staff kept changing and at times was non existent. Next time we hope to have better attention and consistancy to our meal.

    We have been to Kellari many times over the past few years and every experience has been wonderful. They can cook fish better than almost anyone out there and the service is always flawless. It is a little pricey, but considering the service and the quality of the food and drink, it is actually quite a bargain compared to many of our special event places.

    We’ve eaten there before and enjoyed a lovely a la carte meal. In this case we had a show to make so we opted for the three course pre-theater dinner. It was excellent, well-timed with no rush for a “reasonable for midtown NYC” &65 per diner.

    We love Greek food and everything we ordered was delicious (we ended up ordering a variety of appetizers instead of entrees). Some of the menu items were ones that we'd never seen on the menu of other Greek restaurants, and like that the menu showed what items were vegan (we aren't but have plenty of friends who are). Our waiter took excellent care of us and was kind to comp our dessert for my wife's birthday.

    Been many times but my first time to have some disappointments 20-min delay to be seated and the Halloumi app was mediocre at best- Barely hot and quite chewy! Won’t order this again Salmon always great but for the price 2 potatoes is a bit cheap Shall hope for a better exp next time

    Everything was great, except for our server. It did not ruin the experience at all! Food and atmosphere were top notch!
