Save yourself some time and go to South City Kitchen instead…seriously. The food here is suuuuuuuuper salty and I say very overpriced for the very basic options. If you’re gonna make southern food in Atlanta at least make it better than your competition. Appetizers were poorly executed. We had the jerk chicken noodle soup and it was salty, the noodles seemed store bought and hard and it came out barely Luke warm and I kid you not, it took almost 30 minutes for the soup to come out and it wasn’t even hot which was frustrating. The meal was mid at best. I had the southern fried chicken with Asian sauce which was again waaaaay too salty. It’s like they used regular soy sauce and didn’t bother tasting how salty it was with the batter of the chicken combined. The chicken was overcooked small and this dry. Your options are dark meat or light meat. We also had the braised beef which was also too salty and mid. The sweet potatoes came out HARD, couldn’t poke a fork a 1/4 inch into them so sent those back. Got Mac and cheese which was less flavorful than Kraft and had mini noodles with what looked like cheese just thrown on top and melted with a torch…
It was very crowded, from desk was disorganized despite the 4-5 attendants standing there. Having the high chairs looking over the low chairs between the booths felt awkward like we were in a pit or fishbowl. We were so close to the couple behind us we could hear the entire conversation, drive by’s and all.
Our server was truly amazing and was literally the best part of the experience. And an experience it was.
NEVER going back, DO NOT recommend.
