Created to deliver the best in food, drinks and vibes to Chicago, IL, Kitchen + Kocktails is here to please. A dynamic comfort food restaurant at its core, Kitchen + Kocktails will focus on nicely plated comfort foods, including flavored fried chicken and lobster tails, shrimp and grits, creative waffles and other southern classics made with a twist.

If you are past the 15 minute grace period your reservation will be forfeited then you will be accommodated as a walk-in.

made an rsvp days prior to me showing up in Chicago. From me walking in the establishment the customer service was rude and very obnoxious. The hostess was very obnoxious and rude. I also had a bar reservation no one came to even say hi welcome. I asked to be moved to a dinner table, they moved me but still no waiter, waitress, server in sure. But a party of 8 came in an that’s all the attention was on. I don’t care if I’m a party of 1 I still deserve the same type of service like everyone else. I wanted to give this place a try and I really hate to say the reviews on social media were right. I won’t ever return.

I was super excited to go while in Chicago. I’d read reviews and watched videos on Tik Tok. Got there on Thanksgiving, while it was a holiday it wasn’t very packed but many tables did not have their food. I was seated by the bar area which was the prettier part of the restaurant. It took 25 mins for someone to bring me water. Once I looked at the menu I realized that ( being allergic to seafood) there aren’t very many options. Additionally, the prices were very high for the portion sizes … I opted for the catfish and grits as a last resort for dinner and when it came it was cold. I immediately send it back . But this time I still had not gotten my drinks from the bar when I returned my food .. I just left. I would not recommend.

We left after 35 minutes because Our server never came by to check on us.

We were warmly greeted upon walking in and asked if we had a reservation. My boyfriend was asked to remove his hat as it was apart of their dress code and we did as asked. We were actually over dressed for this place so I’m surprised they tried to enforce this rule with us. After we were seated we noticed other men coming in casually dressed and wearing hats, my boyfriend was the only man in there with no hat on. We just found this really weird. Our waitress which I wish I remembered her name was super sweet and attentive the whole time. She’s really good at her job. After ordering I was told they ran out of regular fries and that they can substitute for something else and I choose mashed potatoes. I was asked if I wanted gravy and said yes. (I was never told gravy was an extra $3). I also ordered jerk chicken and asked if there was any jerk sauce and they said no but recommended another sauce I said ok. (I was never told the side of sauce would be $3) That’s $6 extra on my bill I wasn’t told about until the bill came. We didn’t order any drinks as they were well overpriced. There is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill ( we were a party of 2). The overall experience was ok but probably wouldn’t go back.

Food is always fantastic but I think the service could be better. Regular water and sparkling water was offered. Regular water had an unusual taste. We were given our appetizers without any servings plates. I never received my additional condiment when asked and it took the waiter almost 15 mins to have our order placed. Outside of the service issues. Catfish is a must try. Toasted marshmallow espresso martini brings you happiness and the fried chicken was cooked to perfection!

The food isn’t premium price quality. 11 dollars for a lemonade is ridiculous and 11 dollars for one plain cup of white rice is insane.

Loved it ! The food and drinks 10/10. We had a great server his name was Chaz he knew everything about the menu didn’t steer us wrong at all. The pasta was great and everything came out in a timely manner. Will be visiting here again in the future.
