The overall experience is VERY underwhelming.
TLDR: Not recommended. Quality and selection of food are unsatisfactory, time management was very poor, staff were untrained and unprofessional.
We were recommended by friends who have big appetites, saying that they left with a very full belly. Made a reservation and we arrived 5 minutes early. Was told to wait outside because the last round hasn’t finished yet. We were told “It won’t be long”. Come back after 5 minutes, all customers have left and the restaurant is empty, but the door is still shut and they were still cleaning up. We stood and waited for 15 more minutes. It was already 20 minutes past our reservation time when we finally get to enter. Japanese restaurant are famous for being on time, especially for Omakase, because this way the team gets to serve all the customers simultaneously, but apparently this is not how they do it here. But the first dish(which is a cold dish) isn’t served after another 15 minutes, which means the first 30 minutes of our reservation basically goes to nowhere.
The first dish is “Chawanmushi”, well they said it was. But it was just COLD egg custard with corn on top, which is very different from the traditional ones we had before. The egg was flavourless, and the corn doesn’t go with it at all. The other appetiser “Hassun 4” are so-so. But behild, there’s another “shabu shabu” dish, which is grilled vegetables( pepper and eggplant) paired with fish that were quickly boiled in kombucha broth in front of us. i am sorry but I don’t understand what kind of food pairing is that. The fish was blend and flavourless, as it was unseasoned and only cooked for 10 seconds. The vegetables did not go well with the fish, there’s only a bit of sauce on the side. The only highlight is the “main dish”, which is rice and crab meat stuffed in crab shell. The order of food is also very weird, we had all these dishes before the sushi, even the crab rice, which is definitely different with the other o
