Nestled amongst riverside treetops on Southgate’s mid level, La Camera boasts two balconies with stunning views over The Yarra River and iconic Flinders Street Station. The interior is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs depicting the history of the family that has owned and operated the restaurant since it opened in 2000. La Camera Southgate offers an array of authentic Italian dishes including unique Roman-style pizzas, authentic Pappardelle Ox Cheek from Trastevere-Rome and by far the most delectable Tiramisu in town. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, and fresh seasonal produce.

    It was refreshing to be served with a smile. Food was delicious and very generous servings were appreciated by all. Well done La Camera for not caving to newage nonsense.

    We had the Seafood Linguine, 4 mussels from a tin, bits of white fish and 2 prawns, no flavour at all.

    Hi Debbie, Sorry you did not enjoy our Linguini Pescatore as it is our signature dish. It is still my favourite dish on the menu but I am not doubting you as the chefs might have missed some of the seasoning. I would love to have you in again to give it another go. ( Our shout) The mussels are deshelled fresh every morning, the white fish is Barramundi and the 2 prawns are King Prawns. We also have diced calamari in the mix.
