La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago. I attended La Boucherie with my family we had a reservation but our evening started off rough, the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy but they made us wait for twenty minutes. When the hostess did text us that our table was ready, it actually wasn’t. They quickly ran around to prepare a table that was previously empty. While we waited for our table we went to the bar to get a drink. The bar tender was not great and our drinks were not very good. Our waiter was snooty and the menu did not disclose all the ingredients so when the food arrived we were disappointed with the quality and taste. Overall it was fine, but we would not be coming back.

The food is mediocre and drinks are overpriced. While our server was very nice, the overall service was terrible. I think maybe they were understaffed. Regardless, a very disappointing experience.

Most excellent torchon. Of foie A little skimpy for $$$ Steak tartare texture was very un appealing Very nice service LOVE the warm bread with room temp butter and salt - excellent ! Beautiful desserts and atmosphere ! Lovely lovely lovely foie gras

The space is lovely, and the servers were great, but the food was mediocre. The Boeuf Bourguignon was tepid, and the scallops were just okay. However, we had a really nice bottle of champagne that was reasonably priced, and the mousse au chocolat was outstanding. Overall, I would say this is a great place for happy hour or for dessert, but not for a meal, especially for the price.

Service was aloof. Kind of forgot us and had to get up get my bottle of wine and poured the table myself, put the bottle back and nobody noticed. Croque Monsieur lacked bechamel sauce to make it less dry. Not the best experience compared to their NYC location. Disappointing.
