Housed in Chicago’s Belle Époque building, the unique Art Nouveau-inspired space honors the iconic building’s legacy while providing guests with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and menu. La Grande Boucherie blends the ambiance of an indulgent steakhouse with a refined Parisian brasserie charm, and fuses traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage. The two-story restaurant boasts custom curved stained-glass windows overlooking the bustling streets of Chicago.                   The ambiance is gorgeous. Makes me feel like I am in Paris. The appetizers were very good. But my pork Diane was way too peppery and luke warm . The service was also very slow. The dishes weren’t cleared often or fast despite there being lots of bus people. The wine glasses that we didn’t use were never even cleared. We ended up skipping out on dessert because service was so long. We were there for 2hrs. On top of that the table next to us was having major issues with the service as well.

                  We came for Christmas dinner and it took over 1.5 hours to get our dinner. I understand it was slow because of the holiday but our server did nothing to help our experience. At one point, we asked if we can bring our left over French onion soups to go to which he said “he wouldn’t recommend it” and went on how it was a bad idea. At the end of the day, we paid $17 for the soup and if I wanted to bring it home, I shouldn’t be getting push back on it. Overall, the food is amazing but I wish the service was better.

                  The food lacked a presence of depth. The soup was not reduced enough and was not seasoned properly. The same was true of the bourguignon, the beef was done well but the sauce was bland under reduced and not seasoned properly.

                  What a beautiful space! We went for our family’s Christmas dinner, and we will definitely come back soon. All of the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

                  This place is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. No, it's not the cheapest place to eat in Chicago, but the venue, service and food are more than worth the money. Our server Nico was incredibly attentive and very informed on the restaurant itself, but more importantly the drinks and dishes. Highly recommend

                  Went for Christmas Day lunch. Very nicely decorated for holidays. Greeting was very nice as well as friendly servers. Good overall was tasty, but the food was not hot, just warm. We had roast chicken, very nice flavor and moist. But just warm. Pork Diane was very good. Steal frites was also good. The shrimp cocktail and seafood salad were both excellent. I would give this restaurant another chance because the flavors were all good. Merry Christmas

                  They overbooked for Christmas Eve. Waited an hour to be seated after my initial reservation time. They charge people for being late but there are no repercussions for their terrible scheduling, and they kept the 22% tip even though we waited an hour to be seated.

                  Unfortunately this would be our last visit. We were the first customers to love and promote this restaurant when it opened but the past couple of experiences fell short. Our Christmas Eve dinner was very disappointing. This restaurant is not ready for prime time. 1. Huge congestion at check-in as people were waiting to be seated while bunch of empty tables were visible to all. The receptionist seemed overwhelmed and inexperienced. 2. After a long unpleasant wait, our food was underwhelming. French onion soup had almost no flavors, no layers whatsoever, tasted like something I cook following a recipe online. The Caesar Salad was not fresh and I never complain about salads ever. The roast chicken was not well seasoned and certainly should have been cooked longer. 3. The beef bourguignon was decent as usual. 4. The waiter was very very busy but reasonably attentive. We will continue to visit the one in midtown Manhattan but not the Chicago location - Get your act together.
