   The Good: by now, if you're concerned this restaurant, you've seen the magnificent entrance as you walk up the stairs. It's definitely Grand! The Bad: the food is...."eh". My wife got the Pork Diane. And like most restaurants, they rely on the sauce to be the seasoning w/o actually seasoning the meat. I had the lobster linguini and was very disappointed. The sauce tasted like that Campbell's alphabet soup tomato sauce. The amount of lobster they give you doesn't justify their $50 price for this entrée. I literally received ONE piece of meat from the claw and a very small half of a tail that's been cooked so long, you can't even scrape the meat out. Do not order this dish. My 16 y/o did like her ribeye steak. The very first steak she's ever order at a restaurant. The Ugly: there was no ugly. Despite our food not being the greatest, our waiter was exceptional! Timely, polite, informative, and attentive. The ambience is great. It's definitely worth one visit if you've never been. You can decide to return based on your experience.

   The restaurant vibe and live jazz was amazing. The staff was prompt and accommodating. We were expecting mashed potatoes with as a side but we got fries. All in all it was a great time. I fully recommend. Zeno out waiter was great!

   La Grande Boucherie is located in one of the more beautiful buildings in DC Our reservation was for a Friday which unfortunately meant that a conversation was impossible due to the band that played in a room where the acoustics tripled the sound Service was very good The food was very average My lobster had to be returned since it arrived raw over pasta that was not linguine and was very overcooked My husband’s mousse de foie gras was very disappointing Overall a nice place for drinks but definitely pass on dinner It was not worth the drive from Virginia

   We made a last minute reservation for 7 people on a busy Wednesday night, and the restaurant was very accommodating. The space is beautiful. Our server, Steven, was a gem. Everyone was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of the space itself. The wine recommendations were spot on, and the food was amazing. We ordered a number of different appetizers, including the escargot (which is delicious). we had a great selection of entrees to pick from including the salmon, branding, filet, and I had the dry aged NY strip (highly recommend). And save room for dessert!

   Exceptional date night! Following a disappointing visit in March (bland food, hurried service with lots of mistakes) we returned and had a delightful evening. Service was a high point, with exceptional kudos to Emily. Despite a very busy service, she made sure everything was just right, that our courses came out in great timing, and that we were well taken care of. The food was delicious across the board this time. Oysters were fresh, and the octopus grilled very well. The mains were another high point! Excellent aged steak, and sole meuniere was heavenly. Profiteroles for dessert were lovely. We probably over-ordered (with cheeses and another appeetizer) but we were very pleasantly fed. Ambience was lovely, live jazz was loud, and two very loud, energetic tables created quite a cacophony, though not the restaurant's fault. Additional curtains or sound absorbing panels would be a very welcome addition. All in all, a delightful experience, and we can't credit Emily enough for her outstanding service! We're very glad that La Grande Boucherie encouraged us to give the restaurant another try - they were right, it was well worth it!

   We had an excellent dinner last night. Place is beautiful, food excellent and the service was superb. I would highly recommend Emily as a server, she is a real pro. We will certainly return.

    Redeeming factor - our waitress, Gloria. She was the bright light of the evening. The escargot were good. The lobster linguine, not so good. The lobster was so overcooked and dried out, it was horrible. When we told Gloria, we did get freshly cooked and good lobster, but by that time, the pasta was cold. All in all, not so great. We did get a delicious crème brulee, so we ended on a good note. I don’t think I’d go back.
