La Madeleine has been run by a family team since October 2016.

Ed Pitts one of the owners and Head Chef was delighted to take on such an amazing venue; “Ever since I’ve been cooking I’ve dreamed about running my own place, so to get that opportunity with La Madeleine is everything I could have wanted; we put the emphasis firmly on great food and drink, served by friendly passionate staff” French cuisine is the starting point for the menu, whether breakfast, lunch or supper but it is a fluid style and borrows influences from many other parts of the world to create a vibrant modern menu.

Summer is when La Madeleine really comes into its own as the garden is an oasis, where you can forget that you are in the heart of the city; Whether that’s in the daytime with breakfast, lunch or with a slice of delicious homemade cake; or by taking advantage of the warm summer nights and dining al fresco by candlelight.

My husband and l always enjoy going to La Madeleine's restaurant. The service is prompt, friendly and attentative. The quality of the food and beverages is of excellent quality. It is easy to make a reservation by phone and online as well. This restaurant is situated in the heart of Hereford city. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cosy and inviting and for better weather days, there is a lovely garden to the rear of the restaurant. La Madeleine's is ideal for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. They have a tempting selection of cakes! I have no hesitation in recommending La Madeleine's restaurant.

Just seems to have lost its edge a bit. Needs a spruce up and menu revamp. Still a lovely lunch spot so hope it invests in keeping up the reputation it once had.

A lovely restaurant, delicious food with an excellent varied choice. It would be nice if they offered deserts although there is a good choice of cakes.
