In short the service was TERRIBLE.
Firstly we were not given any choice of water. The waitress just started poring, sparking. At $7.00 a glass I'd like to be given a choice
Four adults at the table, but we were only handed two menus to share
After ordered our initial drinks, nobody returned for the better part of 40mins to take our order
Both myself and another of our party had to physically wave our hands TWICE in the air throughout the night to get someone's attention and further service
Despite there being only 6 mains to choose from, the wait staff had absolutely no idea what was gluten—or dairy-free, so they had to depart back to the kitchen to check the options.
Once we had eventually ordered, she then returned to report one meal was sold out - at 6.45pm on at Saturday night ! With a bizarre explanation about 3 being sold the night before. Why this was relevant to us I have no idea
This was all PRIOR to the fire alarm going off in the kitchen.
We never did get offered dessert or coffee - post our main meal arriving
In a final move, when the bill was presented, she physically left the payment machine on the table between the four of us and walked away.
ANY RESTAURANT that is charging upwards of $140.00 for a main on a menu this level of service is nowhere near acceptable.
Rather than leaving a snarky review on this or any other platform, I decided to try and do the right thing by calling the restaurant manager the following day to discuss our experience.
The phone on the receipt (03 9013 3818 was disconnected!
After eventually finding the correct number and leaving a message for a manager to call me back, I'm still waiting two days later!
We will not be returning. Very disappointing.
