Slightly disappointed, made reservations for 4 and my wife’s bday was noted, given a table by the front door and it was very cold every time door opened. Asked for a different table and got a better one and that table remained empty. Had a good meal and started with calamari which was different from the table next to us and not real good, tiny pieces. It seemed that there were a lot of bdays going on but we were given dessert menus. I told the waiter when I made reservations on open table the special occasion was a bday and asked him if it was noted and he said no, shame on open table or the restaurant, but he was gracious and took care of it, I am not sure I will go back.

we spent a date night with our neighbors at Cliff House. We have had excellent meals there in the past,but tonight's were just OK. We ordered sunset dinners. They were not piping hot, and quality was not what we expected. We will go back and give them another chance because we have had great food there before. Just an off night

The Cliffhouse was the perfect backdrop for our family holiday dinner ! Most of us did not order off of the sunset menu but it’s a terrific option for a more affordable and lighter meal. Overall, our apps and entrees were good — starting with the burrata, ceviche and beet salad. The steak, lamb, pork and swordfish were also good. Overall, it’s the special ambience and excellent service, as opposed to the cuisine, that make this place so special.

The sunset supper is so perfect for a special event or a lovely meal out. The food is exceptional and well presented. Not a huge serving but just the right size for an early meal. Wednesday 1/2price bottles of wine is the icing on the cake !!! Service is so well done. We didn’t feel rushed and completely enjoyed our meal and had an amazing ice cream wedge cake dessert to share. Always a highlight while we ate in the desert. Well done keeping this special meal going. Thank you-!!!🙏

The short ribs were excellent. We also had the pork chop, salmon and rigatoni - would recommend all of these dishes. The service was also excellent.

Our server was great. But the food was overpriced and parts were inedible. The date appetizer was completely wrong texture wise. I don’t know who thought putting shredded coconut in an already sweet dish was a good idea, but it was inedible. The vegetables with the lamb loin were also textually wrong and undercooked, and just didn’t go with the dish in the slightest. Overall, the food felt outdated and overpriced for the quality received.

Beautiful facility. Nice ambiance. Lots of tables full. Server tried very hard and had to do most of the setups and bussing herself as her support staff seemed to be unavailable. Even getting new silverware or plates between courses required repeated requests. Food: octopus appetizer was oaky and best part of the dish was the potatoes. Scallops and short ribs arrived cold. Asked to have scallops redone. Didn’t have the heart to ask for the short ribs, as well. Even with scallops redone, neither dish was remarkable. Nice that they brought out an ice cream dessert for the birthday occasion. Overall eating experience a disappointment and considerably overpriced for value provided. Ok experience if your expectations are moderate. Disappointed and we won’t be back.

Food was delicious and beautifully presented as always. Server Susie is a sweetheart! Such a special place for our family to bring guests! First time I think that I have ordered the swordfish. It was perfectly cooked. So good I shared a bite with everyone! Too bad I didn’t eat it all myself!😊

Another fabulous experience at this place. We live in San Diego and come out about once a year and dinner at the Cliffhouse is a must. We celebrated my husband’s 60th bday here last night. The food was amazing! The service was impeccable! We always have a five star experience here!
