Tastes of France in Mill Valley, join us for romantic dinners, family meals, and special occasions in our charming, French-inspired California bistro. Chef Emmanuel's classic French dishes made with local and organic ingredients — fondue gougères, rillettes de saumon, entrecote aux trois poivres, moules frites, bouillabaisse marseillaise, saint-jacques scallops, poulet a l'estragon, soupe à l'oignon, salade niçoise, et plus!
Owner Patrick Ascaso has curated a list of his favorite, affordable French wines, offering some unique profiles from the Southern part of France with spicier, fruitier profiles, and also from the Northern Rhone region with earthier finishes, along with many organic wines with less and less nitrates to bring the natural flavors forward.

    This is a wonderful gem of a restaurant. During the day, a lively, buzzing cafe then transforms into a neighborhood comfortable French experience that makes you feel welcome with beautiful food, soft music, great wines and joyful professional not stiff service. Look forward to going again soon!

    Great food in a cosy setting. Food is French/European in style and tastes. Food is tasty and well presented. Given the limited food outlets in MV Le Marais is a welcome restaurant. Service is good and the nice thing the ambient noise level is perfect to converse with your fellow dining guests. I’d recommend le Marais.

    The Friday night we went to dinner there was only one wait staff on the floor. Needless to say we had to wait awhile before our order was taken. Our server was very apologetic and offered a complementary tasting of wines (they were out of Pinot and Cab). We ordered the onion soup, cheeseburger, and lamb with polenta. We didn’t have to wait long for our food to arrive and everything tasted great. In fact my husband wants to go back so he can order the lamb for himself. Our server Hilda was lovely and we will be coming back soon.

    This was ok. Our starters never arrived and we didn’t see our waiter again until our entrees were brought to the table. We ordered the crème brulee for dessert, it came in a puff pastry that was completely burnt. By then we were ready to leave so we didn’t send back, just picked around the burnt edges. The interior is quaint although chilly. Unfortunately, I wanted to love this place based off their Instagram and the menu but I wouldn’t return for dinner. Daytime fare and service might be better.

    Great food, well prepared and tasty. French/European food. Ample choices for starters and mains, good wine list too all at a reasonable price.
