    Overall, we had a good experience! Some of the people in our group loved our food, while others thought it was a bit average. All five of us got something different & sampled each others as well! The beef bourguignon was collectively our favorite. French onion soup was good, and we liked the bread! Our server was amazing and very sweet! The other wait staff were extremely nice as well. Especially for the area, we felt the prices were fair! However, my only complaint of the night was the man in the front. He was rude, not once, but three times to us. We’re a pretty young group, so maybe that’s why. The moment we walked in, I smiled and said that we had a reservation. He chuckled and said “yeah I’m sure everyone here does.” That was the first interaction I had with the restaurant which didn’t set the best tone. He then told us to leave our coats at the front, yet while trying to do that he demanded for us to move out of the way? Followed by rushing one member of our group to the table without the rest of our group to get us out of the way. It was definitely just an odd encounter and we’re super friendly people, so it just felt rude and unnecessary. Overall, it was good, but none of us were over-the-top impressed.

    First time eating there. Had 545pm reservations. Arrived early after my Broadway show. We were seated soon after arriving. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday at 5pm. The food was absolutely delicious. The Beef Bourgignon was delicious. The special (Truite Almondine) was very good. Got to practice my French with the french couple ( owners). Great atmosphere and even better food. Definitely will be coming back again.

    We were celebrating our 12th anniversary at Le Rivage after seeing a show. We love sitting at the bar, and they provided a perfect bar seat and experience. While full, the restaurant had the perfect ambience. Clearly, everyone was enjoying themselves but the noise level was never too loud to have a conversation with each other. The food was amazing. We enjoyed several French classics, like the frog legs, beef bourgignon, duck and poached pear. The steak tartare and cheese course was lovely as well. Our bartender was very attentive, and he answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations for wine and after dinner digestifs. Overall, Le Rivage has a lovely, French country atmosphere that will welcome you back for more.

    Excellent menu. Every course was delicious. Nice wine list and relaxing, soothing atmosphere. Quaint local restaurant that has been operating for over 40 years. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to NYC. Highly recommended.
