Le Yaca began in 1964 in Courchevel, a tiny, country village in the French Alps. Daniele Bourderau & Gerard decided it would be fun to open a small restaurant. When friends learned of their plans, they told the hopeful restaurateurs they were crazy to think people would drive eight kilometers on a winding, icy road for dinner. Daniele and Gerard hesitated for three months and then decided, “yaca le faire,” a contraction of the French phrase “il n’y a qu’a le faire,” which basically means, “let’s do it.” They called the restaurant Le Yaca as a gag, but the name caught on with customers who were amused by the pun and contributed to the restaurant’s lore by inventing “yaca-isms” of their own: yaca y aller (let’s go). Daniele came to the United States and opened Le Yaca in Williamsburg. Daniel Abid bought Le Yaca in 2001. Daniel worked and trained in such prestigious places as “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris; “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge," and to top it all off, “Alain Ducass

    This is by far the best French restaurant! The food is always unbelievable, both taste and presentation, and the service is impeccable. When we are in Williamsburg we always book a table at Le Yaca. We usually order from the prix fixe menu where the selection is excellent but we also have had their specials. Everything is super and the bread is to die for ❤️

    This restaurant is always a treat for us. Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive employees make us feel welcome every visit. The food is delicious too!! You won’t be sorry you chose to eat here!

    We had a 12:45 reservation. Was quickly seated, received a very warm welcome from our waitress. She was attentive, explained menu and choices. The food was absolutely delicious, well prepared and and looked like art on a plate. Kudos to the staff. The meal that was unbeatable for quality and value. I highly recommend this restaurant!

    Our third year celebrating our anniversary here. Food was good as usual. The manager, Howard, even worked with me to select the wine I wanted by giving us an impromptu wine tasting. The service is incredible. One of the best restaurants on the Peninsula.

    Always a delight at Le Yaca! The lunch special is a good value with soup/salad, entree, and dessert included. The food and service were superb!
