A Chinese restaurant, hidden down a Melbourne laneway, off the iconic Flinders Lane dining precinct.

Really tasty food with excellent presentation they also had a very nice wine pairing to go with the meal

With the well known name I known from London I didn’t expect it to be a fusion restaurant and it’s not much to my taste. For the price one pays it’s not quite value for money. I would pay that price I would rather go to Flower Drum anytime! The yuppies may love it but not for traditional Asian guys like me. For me and my family from Asia just take it as an experience. Ambience is rustic like a whole in the wall in an alley.

I discovered this restaurant last year and fast became one of my favourite places to dine in Melbourne. I love the modern twist on Chinese cuisine.

Food absolutely brilliant but $$$ We waited a long time for drinks, starters and main course. We thought it was understaffed which is understandable these days but sad for the price you’re paying.

Food was excellent on this busy Lunar New Year’s night. But slow service (inordinately so at times) meant it took very long to order, receive wine glasses (we were BYOing) and the pacing of food was too slow. There were a number of special Lunar New Year dishes that we ordered, the ubiquitous longevity noodles among them. I’d return for the food, but only if the service is better.

The service staff is a mixed bag. Some are professional from the start, some ruined their first impression, then slowly warmed up as you start to order more. And they just hit the glasses as they serve drinks. Food is good, but growing up Malaysian, nothing to write home about. Ambience is horrible simply due to the fact of how cramped the space is. Meaning if your neighbour decides to have a family spat, and raise their voice so it affects everyone around them, well, tough luck. Overall, come if you just want to have a sneak peak of what food from my region tastes like, but if you’re already familiar, then you aren’t missing out.

Food was solid. We were a party of 8. I'm Asian and understand family style eating. Still, the experience would have been better if the wait staff served the food to us. It's too much work to divide every dish equally.
