Legal Sea Foods Chicago is now open along the vibrant Riverwalk in the bustling River North neighborhood at the famous Marina Towers. Legal's first Midwest location features two floors of upscale casual New England vibes with sweeping riverfront views and an outdoor space. The brand-new restaurant features a large main dining room, bar area, private event space, and outdoor terraces. Serving New England specialties such as Boston's best Clam Chowder and Half Pound Lobster Rolls, as well as new signature dishes and local favorites. Best clam chowder anywhere! Crab cake appetizer was all crab, no filler and tasty. Came with salad so was quite filling as my main course. The stuffies were delicious-2 in the order and a unique northeastern treat. Others in my party commented on size of Cesar and house salads-big enough to share. They loved the cod and halibut. I love the location on the river. A great addition to Chicago.

The food at the Boston locations are far better. The lobster bisque and clam chowder were watery.

We were there for a late lunch and was seated with a great river view. Service was quick and friendly. The food was outstanding. Will return for a dinner time experience the next in Chicago.

I’m glad this iconic restaurant has opened n Chicago. Rey nice room and awesome menu. The oysters were fresh and delicious and the crab cake appetizer with a little greens was jumbo lump and delicious al with small. The lobsters rolls and fries were plentiful and we had them warm instead. The scallops entree was disappointing. I expected 4-5 large sea scallops and got five very small ones. They tasted good but not what I expected from a high end seafood restaurant.

The food was good but the atmosphere was more casual than what I remember from eating at the one in Boston.

My wife and I had dinner Legal Sea Foods last night, some 50+ years after we dined frequently at the original Legal Sea Foods in Cambridge, Mass. as graduate students at MIT in the early 70s. The sea food we were served last evening was quite delicious. I had the cioppino, which was overflowing with shrimp, mussels, clams, lobster, and whitefish. My wife had the linguini and clams, which was also delicious. We will return.
