I recently visited Les Secrets, their newly opened bar, and unfortunately, it was an experience I won't soon forget — for all the wrong reasons.
First, the service was dreadful. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained, barely engaging with us. We waited over an hour for our entrée, and the waiter didn't check on us until we had to flag him down. When we did, he offered focaccia to make up for the kitchen losing our order, which felt more like a token gesture than a genuine apology. He also brought out another appetizer, which we declined. After another twenty minutes with no food, we left money on the table for our drinks and walked out.
To make matters worse, the waiter chased us down at the valet to make sure we’d paid our tab, claiming he was “only coming out to apologize” after we explained we had already settled the bill. This interaction was the final straw—after poor treatment throughout the meal, his “apology” felt more like an afterthought.
As for the space, it seemed more like a converted back-of-house area than a thoughtfully designed bar. Rather than creating an intimate, speakeasy vibe, they turned it into a cramped, uncomfortable space with no regard for ambiance. The furniture was poorly designed, and the layout lacked any clear intention. The lounge chairs were too low for the tables, making it uncomfortable to enjoy a meal.
Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I won’t be returning anytime soon.
