Located in the historic district, Lewes Oyster House honors the rich heritage of ubiquitous and democratic oyster consumption in 18th and 19th century Middle Atlantic taverns and oyster houses. We serve inspired tavern fare, expertly prepared with fresh, regionally-sourced ingredients along with crisp lagers, interesting wines, and artisanal cocktails. All that, and a whole lot of love.

Please join us for lunch Tuesdays through Saturdays in the Tap Room, Oyster Bar or Main Bar. We do not accept reservations for lunch.

Walk-ins for dinner are always welcome first-come first-served at the Oyster and Main bar areas, all evening long beginning at 5 p.m.

Online reservations for dinner are VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for the Walsh Room and Tap Room.

                          We totally enjoyed the food. For appetizers, coconut shrimp and Ricotta toast were great! Burgers and lobster roll were our dinner course. Great burgers and toppings, but small for the delicious roll. The lobster roll was great, but needed a sturdier roll. The server was pleasant when we first sat down , but we weren't very quick with ordering. We were just catching up and relaxing with our meal. There were empty tables, so we weren't delaying another party. Perhaps that was an issue. We left her 20% but would have tipped much better if she'd been pleasant. Great place for dinner in Lewes!

                          Love Lewes Oyster House. Only complaint is the closeness of tables and the noise level at times but that is very minor. Well worth it ! Love the food and the service is outstanding.

                          We had a wonderful meal at a warm and inviting restaurant on 2nd St in Lewes. It was busy for a Saturday in Feb, but the food and the service were outstanding as usual.

                          Service and dinner are always excellent. Clara with an assist from Mike was our server and yes as always a joyful professional team. Burger night might raise some eyebrows but we highly recommend LOH for the burger beasts or there!

                          I had the pleasure of dining at Lewes Oyster House last night, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was simply phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The oysters, of course, were a highlight, impeccably fresh and beautifully presented. Every dish that followed was just as impressive, with a perfect balance of creativity and classic flavors. The service was equally exceptional. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the entire evening feel special. It’s clear that everyone here takes pride in what they do, from the kitchen to the front of house. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Billy was exceptional. Overall the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a fantastic meal in Lewes, this spot is a must-visit!

                          It was amazing as always. There is no bad item on the menu. We started with a dozen oysters, the mussel appetizer and oysters Rockefeller. We then orders entrees of the catfish sandwich. Fettuccini with clams and the lobster roll. It was fabulous as usual.
