Livestock Tavern is a seasonal restaurant and whiskey bar that is located in the Chinatown District of Honolulu.

The menu that is served is full of variety. We pride ourselves with having an extensive whiskey & wine list perfect for any occasion.

We accept reservations and walk-ins.
For large reservations of 6 or more, one tab is required and automatic gratuity is added.
For large reservations of 12 or more, a preset menu is required.

    We love to host all different sorts of parties and events for any occasion. From business lunches to wedding receptions. Our sister restaurant, The Tchin Tchin Bar, has a more of a social appeal that is perfect for large party events.     There is street parking throughout the whole day where you do pay by the hour using a coin meter, this parking option is free after 6PM. We do have municipal parking lots located just a couple of blocks away from the restaurant. One being on 155 Beretania Street, the cheapest one we know, and another one closer is on 106A N. King Street.

                                                                        As someone who doesn’t work in downtown, eating out in downtown is a rare treat. Since we were going to a show for an early Valentine’s Day date at the Hawaii Theatre, we jumped at the opportunity to try one of the many restaurants in the area. After assessing a couple of different restaurant menus and reviews, we landed on Livestock Tavern. LT’s menu is a bit of a rarity in Hawaii - meat-forward with a supporting cast of seasonal ingredients. We were really excited to try something new, but overall left disappointed. 1. The entrance to the restaurant is a huge shattered glass door, which was not very welcoming. 2. Service is awkward. We arrived at 5:15, so it was not busy, but it just felt like the servers were nervous and/or overwhelmed the whole time. We weren’t greeted well, server knocked our wine menu into our plates, forgot to take back our menus after we ordered, didn’t seem to understand anything we said unless we reiterated, and just lots of awkward, uncomfortable interactions throughout the night. For the price per plate, I don’t think it’s out of this world to expect service to be trained and welcoming to guests. 3. We didn’t like two of the dishes we ordered (equivalent to $50+) and barely touched them after trying. The servers happily took the dishes away before we finished them without asking if there was any issues with the food, which makes me feel like they know the food is bad or they don’t care? For a $150+ dinner for two, it was nice to try something new, but I won’t be returning.

                                                                        Love the Rissoto. Had some great appetizers and main dishes. Perfect dry martinis. Lots of interesting specials to choose from on the menu.

                                                                        We tried a number of things on our first visit. Brussel sprouts/sweet potato combination dish was good as was the lobster/artichoke dip. They were very busy with lots of pre-concert goers; service was VERY slow. Will try again during off hours to see if it's better.

                                                                        Great food, courteous and attentive service, comfortable and relaxed. Good bar tender as well; knows her stuff! Ambience and dining experience could be improved a notch with some decor touches such as several large crystal chandeliers hanging from over the bar area with special lighting. Adding mirrors to back wall would open the room to customers seated facing the wall.

                                                                        We made NYE reservation a month early and showed up just to see that they were closed. There were several other people who the same thing happened to. It almost ruined our NYE but luckily Fete was able to squeeze us in or it would have been pizza for NYE dinner. I really wish if they had some issue they would have notified us some how.

                                                                        Gem in Honolulu Chinatown! I had the crab crusted salmon with green beans (so fresh). Salmon is cooked perfect and the sauce is absolutely amazing! Will definitely have again! My husband had the chicken with fresh pasta and again the sauce was fabulous. Chicken was moist and tender and fresh pasta is the best. Most Italian restaurants don't serve fresh pasta - what a treat. Their mixed drinks are great too.
