An authentic Italian, family-style restaurant, local to downtown Vancouver
Locanda dell’Orso is inspired by the old legend of the Innkeeper and the Bear. Here you’ll find the ambiance of a warm Italian home, built on the promise of a welcoming and indulgent culinary experience throughout. Fresh pasta made in house daily, with dishes found across Northern and Coastal Italy, ingredients are sourced locally from small farms and imported especially from the Italian regions from which they are best known.

    Beautiful - brought family here from Europe, they all loved so much, cocktails and N/A - excellent choices. So hard to choose what everyone’s favourite was, but the gnocchi, ravioli, and bolognese were to die for!! Tiramisu & panna cotta were the perfect end to a beautiful meal with family

    Delicious food and personable staff. My companion mobilizes with a four wheeled walker; there are no stairs, the washrooms were accessible and the staff were very accommodating. The server was knowledgeable of the menu and kitchen was able to accommodate a dairy allergy as well.

    Best ravioli with pumpkin sauce I've had outside of Italy. The pumpkin sauce was divine and the ravioli were plump and super tasty. Also had delicious focaccia bread; more light and fluffy than dense and chewy. Additionally, we ordered the beet salad. Was perfect starter for 3, lots of delicious raddiccio, thinly sliced beet and maybe some orange. Was a great meal, steps from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, and they have a "show" discount! Would go back fore sure!

    After all the hubbub with The Eras Tour, it was lovely to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food. The Agnolotti del Plin was heavenly and the service was unbelievable great.

    Food was great but place a little cold. So pasta get cold easily. But overall I highly recommend

    Excellent service. Everything was thoughtfully made in house with their own unique touches. We had focaccia bread w lemon saffron butter, scallop w pumpkin puree plus fried mushrooms, meat filled ravioli, sable fish w seasonal vegetables, and pistachio tiramisu. My highlight was the flakey sable fish, soft n crispy focaccia and if you like pistachio gelato, you’d enjoy the tiramisu as much as I did! Thank you for the meal, Inn of the Bear : )
