Locanda Locatelli is one of the finest Michelin-starred Italian restaurants in London, owned by Giorgio Locatelli, noted as much for its conviviality as the quality of its food.

Born into a cooking dynasty in Corgeno on the shores of Lake Comabbio in Northern Italy, Giorgio Locatelli is considered by many to be one of the finest Italian chefs in the UK and the world. At Locanda Locatelli, Giorgio serves traditional Italian dishes, emphasising the quality and freshness of the produce as well as adding his own creative touch

Met with friends a pre-Christmas lunch . There was an amazing range of interesting dishes to choose from and all our questions were answered by the waiters. Delicious, relaxed and sophisticated!

I had high expectations for this Michelin-starred restaurant, especially given the chef's fame from shows like MasterChef. However, my experience fell far short of the reputation. The seating was cramped, with tables so close together it felt like dining at an office desk. Every time I needed to make a phone call or go to the bathroom, I had to ask the staff for help to MOVE the table. When we asked about the reason of tables so close, the staff was defensive, stating no one had ever complained in 22/23 years. This arrangement raises safety concerns—how would guests exit in an emergency, as moving in or out of your seat (for example in tables numbers from 1 to 3 in the attached picture) required shifting tables? We were eventually moved, but the new table was still uncomfortably close to others. This would have been especially problematic for larger guests. After being moved, we noticed the adjacent table was still dirty, with a stained tablecloth that remained untouched for over 20 minutes. When the staff finally cleaned it, they laid down a new cloth while simultaneously SWEEPING THE FLOOR nearby, disturbing our meal. This was not only poorly timed but unprofessional. The food did not live up to Michelin-star standards. The flavours were muddled, and I could not distinguish ingredients like licorice and chestnuts. The dessert, a chocolate sphere with minimal ice cream, was particularly disappointing and far aways from the expected degustation as shown in their dessert webpage. Overall Experience The only aspect that reflected the Michelin rating was the price, not the food or service. The experience was uncomfortable, unremarkable, and certainly not worth the hype. There are far better options in London, offering better food, comfort, and privacy at more reasonable prices. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit to Locanda Locatelli, both times to celebrate my husband's birthday, and once again, the experience was remarkable. The food was outstanding from start to finish, with every dish—antipasti to dessert—showcasing exceptional quality and flavor. A personal highlight for me was the chestnut tagliatelle, which I’ve now enjoyed on both visits. It’s absolutely delicious and a must-try! This time, we brought our children along, and while the overall experience remained excellent, there was one downside. We asked about a children’s menu and were offered just two options: pasta with pomodoro or pasta with butter and cheese. While simple and suitable for kids, we were surprised to find that each dish was charged at £27. This seemed overly steep for such basic offerings and detracted slightly from an otherwise impeccable experience. For this reason, I’m giving four stars instead of five. That said, Locanda Locatelli remains a fantastic choice for special occasions, and we will likely return (perhaps without the kids next time)!

Tutto perfetto, purtroppo però abbiamo aspettato 30min per ordinare perché non avevano informato la sala che avevamo informato il giorno prima che saremmo stati in 2 invece di 4, e quindi pensavano che stessimo aspettando qualcuno.... lo abbiamo fatto presente perché ci si stava scaldando il vino.... si sono subito scusati, puo succedere. Cibo e servizio buonissimi ambiente rilassante Grazie!

We had high expectations given that this restaurant had a Michelin star, but the buratta in our salad was not fresh (it took a knife and fork to cut open), the beef tartar was a sloshy bland mixture and the lobster pasta was low on the lobster and high on herbs and spices. The dessert, a souffle was undercooked and inedible from the middle down. Overall, a waste of our time.

Bella esperienza! Locale bello ma sobrio. Personale gentile preparato e discreto. Maitre che ti mette a tuo agio e, nel nostro caso, si prodiga x trovarti un taxi. In mezzo a questo il cibo. Cosa dire? Ottimo come preparazione e materia prima, prima si mangia con gli occhi, poi con la bocca. Prezzo giusto! Complimenti Chef Locatelli, un pezzo d'Italia di cui essere fieri!
